it looks good so far. I know some mechanics that don't use axle gaskets, just RTV silicone; as long as the axle locks are good. I'd use new ones myself, cheap insurance so you don't spring a leak.

Those of you that keep up with me on Facebook know the progress of the truck. I need to get on here and update this thread and start playing again. I'm starting to miss you jackasses.
Anyways I'm getting ready for the trucks first show this weekend in Tonkowa, OK at Wilkins OK truck supply exit 211 on 35. If anyone is in the area drop on in. The next weekend (25,26) I'll be in Joplin for the chrome shop Mafia's show. Joplin MO exit 4. Once again, anyone in the area drop on by.

Even though I haven't been keeping up with the thread work on the truck hasn't stopped. Summer was mainly just fixing little things and getting it more functional, I guess "road ready" even though the frame is jacked. September was cosmetic month, mainly for polishing and getting the truck looking good for the Wilkins Oklahoma Truck Supply show, and the Joplin Guilt By Association show of which the truck attended both. New LED blinkers and fender markers. When I bought the truck both fender markers were bad. One was shattered and one would work half the time. I did a total fender rewire and instead of cutting and splicing all the wiring, now everything is wired to plugs where if a light or blinker goes bad, it just unbolts and unplugs and a new one plugs in. So I scored a matching set of 8 used virgin rubber 24.5's for a grand, got them on and polished everything up. September was full of polishing. I absolutely hate it. I can do it alright but it's so tedious and boring that I get half way through and decide "fuck this shit" and have to keep myself from quitting. Props to the guys that do this for a living. I put a radio in along with update the music radio to one a buddy gave me out of his old car. Now the truck was as ready as it could have been for the shows. I ordered a bumper a few weeks before the Wilkins show (Sept 18th) but it didn't arrive until the day after I got home from Joplin on the 28th. Took this right after I got to Wilkins and got parked. Next to me is Wilkins owned Classic #15, with 6,000 miles on a crate B model since 2000. They have Classic #356 (one of the only 6 Classics built with a factory 6+4) in the shop getting rebuilt, and just sold Classic #236. the 352 next to it I got to drive a little. Single screw with a B model and a 13 if I remember right. No power steering. It's a fun little truck. The red daycab is a '79 3408 aluminum frame truck with a 15 speed and next to it is a Wilkins owned '80 EXHD glider with a 1693. Needless to say I was lowering property values. Friday night at Wilkins getting ready for bed. The day I got back from wilkins and had to make a walmart run. The day after a show is always disappointing. Friday morning in Joplin after getting parked and all shined up and tire shine applied. A truck away is an '81 EXHD A model with a V8 Cat and a 44" Double Eagle and in front of him is Lang. Saturday night getting parked downtown Joplin for the last part of the show and the Tony Justice concert. I put glass lenses on my markers and all the bulbs were old and one was even LED so thats why none of them match. They're fixed now. So Sunday I went out to my parts truck, took the column and heater box out so I can get the body sold and start on the frame work to get the frame stretched, The frame on the 82 will be added from the sleeper back on my 84. 320" WB total. Getting everything taken apart. It'll go through a total rewire, and all the parts sandblasted and chromed (that you can see) the ones you cant see will get painted black. I'm buying new cables, cores, blower motors, drain pans, resistors, all that. It'll be better than brand new when I get done. Then I'm swapping it for the one in the EXHD right now, and I'll build and sell that one. I have the bumper sitting in my garage floor along with a deck plate I won at wilkins. I've yet to put them on but they should make it on soon.

Time to get rid of my home made DOT bumper/ball hitch thing from the previous owner So lets get this straight.....there's bolt holes behind EVERY FUCKING BRACKET....so why in the FUCK would you WELD everything on instead of drill it out and, hmm, you know....BOLT IT ON??? So I had to grind my way through tons of welds....some of the welds were so shitty I was able to use a hammer and chisel and break them off... Here's one I was able to chisel off....Only being held on by about a 1" weld at the very top, the rest of it was lose and mud dobbered. Finally got everything cut off, had to grind down what was remaining and smooth it out and paint it The final product...I'll be buying a center panel soon, along with a factory back cross member with the stainless cover for it. .....Hopefully the tanks will be one of the next big improvements, along with a wing.....
