Nice pic bud. Keepin them clean as usual. Fun fact - The first vehicle manufacturer in automotive history to have a touch screen system was Buick, called the Electronic Control Center or ECC. It was a touch screen graphics system which implemented vehicle controls associated with things such as the radio and climate control as well as various diagnostic information. The system was first offered in 1986 in the Riviera and followed shortly after as standard equipment in the Reatta.

That's just way cool. I never would have guessed that they were touch screens. Really way ahead of their time.
Do you know if the '91 Brougham has a trip computer that displays fuel milage and such? I can't find anything about it in the manual but seeing as the '88 Crown Victoria has it I feel that the Brougham should too. ;D

Hey Kurt, do you like Lexus?

In all honesty Lexus has never been anything special to me. They've put out a handful of nice cars, but I've never been a big fan of their styling or interiors. I'd rather spend the same money or less on a Mercedes.

That's awesome! ^ --- Saw this Buick sitting at an auto parts store and slammed on the brakes. Had to get a shot of it. Note how tiny my Volvo is sitting next to it.

Dude that is freakin' awesome! I hate GM for not selling it here! Our police just use the short wheelbase version (Pontiac G8 body) with 3.0 V6 engines or 3.5 V6 Camry/Aurions. How dull. To get the LWB Statesman/Caprice I'd have to spend minimum 21,000 and that's a 2006 model with 80k miles. Just because it's a 'luxury' car here with leather, climate control and that stuff. I'd much prefer a base model with vinyl floors and seats and steel wheels. At the very least I'd love the SWB version too but you can only get that as an 'SS' with the body kit and big alloy wheels to go with it. Wack.

My dad just bought 2 08's for $4400 CDN in a online auction in mint shape.

I'd love a Crown Vic.
Hopefully one day.
I still haven't seen any of those new Caprice interceptors in person yet. Seen a SMALL handful of the Taurus. I don't think most departments want to get rid of the Crown Victoria yet, and to be honest most of the ones I see are still in excellent condition. Most look to be as new as a year or two, especially in small towns. They aren't going to dump brand new Victoria's especially when you can get so many years of work out of them.
I really like the new Caprice though, and apparently Chevy has plans to offer a civilian version in the US with an available V8. At least that's what I read. No information on the engine yet though.
==================================
That old Buick is awesome Illousion. Would make for a great project car.

I'd give it one more year until you see more caprice's and taurus'
They get a shit ton of use out of the vics before they get rid of em. Atleast here. The highest mileage on my dad's 08's is 160,000 km's. So it's not much considering you can run of them until about 500,000k. They last years and years mechanically. I drove one of them tonight and it's like a brand new car still. A few dents here and there and paint chips but I'll be taking care of that in the morning before he sells them.

State/County cops are mostly in Crown Vic's around here yet. But alot of the Town/City cops and even some county are switching to Chargers. And even though chargers have been police cars for awhile, the new ones are badass. And cops agree. This video even shows Dodge has a whole lineup of police cars, and even the Ram pickup. I like it.

Nothing will be as good an all around fit for a police car as the Crown Victoria was. I'm curious to see how the new Taurus will compare. I can't imagine maintenance work on the Taurus will be half as cheap and easy as on a CV, and I'm not even so sure about reliability.

Been working on getting the Weber 36/36 on the B18 this afternoon. Not finished though. Needs a larger fuel line and another vaccum hose. Still, it's pretty much bolt-on. The throttle linkage doesn't even need modifying which was a pleasant surprise. For comparison, here's what it looked like before with the stock manifolds and Stromberg carb.

Right on man. Sometimes I wish I had an Amazon, but then I look them up and see the prices people want compared to Blocket.se which is already higher than it should be... Of course, you guys probably have more over there but nevertheless the prices are too damn high.

Compared to other classics of the same year they are dirt cheap over here (except for German Fords and Opels, cars that never will be collectable), but then again as you say we've got more of 'em over here. Thanks! You could pack a badass engine inside that with all the space you have I'd love to, but the swedish DMV says no to that. ;D -- Spent the day in Stockholm. 2012 Charger with the 6.4. It had done 31 miles. 1960 Cadillac. Ex-Arizona car. 1974 (?) full-size Oldsmobile convertible.

They're still in great shape. We have a lot of Impalas in our police fleet too. If I could just get my hands on a newer vic for cheap. They're selling older ones like 03's and down for dirt cheap here but most are ex-cabs which I don't really want to mess with, even though their are a few in good condition. Chris you got a crazy deal on those man. I want a solid P71 with police wheels, then I'll paint it like a burgundy. Man I daydream about what I'm gonna do to my vic when I get it all day

I really dont know what to buy for my next car and it's driving me insane. When I think I've decided something else comes along and throws me off again. Anyway I love all the pics you posts. You probably have more American cars in Sweden than we do here in Aus! How about some proper pics of that Cadillac your dad bought if you get a chance?

Here's a big old Caddy you'll like Illousion. That car is so gorgeous. I'd totally baby it if I had it. Park it under a car-cover every night in a heated garage, wash & vaccum it every weekend. I can't wait for the day when I buy my very own Cadillac.
