Haven't got them down from Iowa yet, but these are going under it. Included in the deal are new bags, short shaft, brakes and wheel seals.

Shitty pic, but it's a little progress, right?? New hood cable. I'll have way more updates when I get the rear ends put in and I can actually drive it back to the house.

I had a few good shots at a few different short hoods but that's why I didn't take them. Short hood. Wanted a long nose and dammit boy I got it.

Right now my plans are 8" Picket Dynaflex miters and the 13" Roadworks drop visor, Vortox air cleaners, electric wiper conversion, duel 150gal tanks, 7 vertical Pete bars across the grill, 32 Ford headlight on JJ brackets, swan with the grab handles on either side, 379X fenders, 20" Texas Square with lights across the bottom and blinkers on the sides.

I saw it on facebook earlier this week but didn't realize it was the true Hillbilly Express. I need to go buy a lotto ticket then take them fender mirrors off with a sledge hammer.

8" pipes aren't BTS style brah!! But this isn't an original BTS truck. If it was, It'd be put back exactly like it was when Jerry had them. I'm still gonna find that one in my sig one day. I hear it's somewhere in Iowa now. Still has the Double Eagle, still has the V8 and the clubs. On another note, It's a good feeling to be insured. I just have to figure out a way to actually register the damn thing.

Will keep eye out. It's supposed to be white now. I think it's packed back off in a barn or outbuilding somewhere. I know the chain of ownership for the 1st 2 owners. Jerry Brand was the 1st owner, Pete Gonzales in Amarillo was the 2nd. He painted it green, then it went to MN and got painted white, now it's in IA I've heard.

Well here's a small update. Not many pics because nothing with the truck itself has really changed. Anyways; Last week I did manage to get it tagged. I just walked into the tag agency with my insurance and the title and told the girl "I want a non-commercial registration". 15 minutes later I was out the door with a Class D tag. The same tag like is on pickups. My registration papers I got in the mail even have PK as the reg. type. My insurance I ended up getting through Progressive Commercial because of my age, and the condition of the truck. Most of these specialty companies that do classic cars and things wouldn't insure it. Mostly because of my age but a few wouldn't do it because the truck isn't in perfect condition. Progressive didn't ask me any questions about the truck other than what I was hauling, which is nothing. So on my insurance it just says personal use. It's a little up there in price just because it actually is commercial insurance, and once again, my age. Even though I have a spotless record. Now on to the truck. I'm going to talk to another shop in the morning to see what he'll quote me, but I found a shop here in town that'll swap out both of my 3rd members for $1,000 plus the oil. I'll probably have to have a drive shaft built, but that'll cost less than $500. The problem with mine is either the spiders are sheared, or the ring and pinion is fried. Either way like I said in a previous post I have a set of good 3.70's. I'm going to just replace the 3rd members since it'll be cheaper than the whole hangers and all being that I personally don't have a place to do it. Long story short, all the legal aspects are taken care of and the truck should be up and driving here in a month or so. But for good measures and those of you that don't want to read all that and just want a pic, here, here's a pic of my dash.

So wait a minute, you're telling me you bought this old Peterbilt just to drive around town? The way you're licensing/insuring it basically means it can't be used as a commercial vehicle.
Looks great, I'm seriously jealous. My parents would love the idea of me parking an '84 Peterbilt in their driveway, lol.

Right now the way the frame is, it won't even pass inspection. Once it's done it's not any problem to re-register it commercial. Just a visit to the tag agency, tell them what weight and class you want, and call Progressive and get it updated from "Personal Use" to "Commercial Use". It's already through Progressive Commercial, so switching won't be a problem.
