Getting the Weber on the Amazon has been alot more work than it first seemed. The intake was not leveled with the exhaust so the bolts would fit almost diagonally. That, and the throttle linkage needed modification after all.
From now on I'm going to keep my cars stock. ;D

The details and style that made old Cadillac's so grand have been lost, sadly. But the same goes for every manufacturer. If Cadillac still made the cars they used to, they'd of been long out of business. Times change unfortunately. The Cadillac enthusiast favors and appreciates their older models most, while the average driver would prefer one of their new cars. I obviously prefer their old cars, but their new ones are still very nice. Here's a pic I took this morning and had a little fun with.

It's running smooth and it's pretty economic considering the 2.2L engine.

It's pretty much summer now. No leaves on the trees yet though, but the temperatures are just right so I went out and enjoyed the Cadillac today. Went up to my home course (although we have three other golf courses around here) and had a coffee and a snack out in the sun overlooking the 18th hole. It blends right in, doesn't it? ;D A guy could get used to this. All these years I never realised how much I missed having a sunroof. If we overlook the fact that it needs an interior detailing badly, here's proof that she's really low mile. Driving the scenic route back, right next to the beach with tons of small vacation homes. The open road. In my oppinion one of the most elegant profiles of any car.

Awesome pics. She sure looks like she's from another universe parked with the others at the golf course. The car is a presence on any road. I forgot that she had an astro-roof. You guys lucked out with that one indeed. Astro-roofs alone make those cars very desirable and collectable, even in the US. They were very, very rare among cars those days and a big option on the Brougham. Not to mention how great of a condition it's in and the low mileage. I'm starting to enjoy the nicer weather myself, or was enjoying. It was nice a few days ago but now it's chilly and damp. Supposed to warm up in the next few days though. The leaves are just starting to fill in nicely around here and we needed the rain. I did cut the grass on Monday, the last time the sun was out. Took a few pics with my phone while I was on the tractor lol. Haven't waxed the car in over a month, just a wash. Still looks pretty good.

And since this is a sort of history topic, i think my 2nd car fits here very well. Last weekend i had a whole 4 days off and spent about every minute of my time working on the car. ;D Basically i've torn the interior up a bit and cleaned it properly, repaired rust and repainted the front left arch and bottom parts of both the rear doors and rear left wheel arch. Then i spent a good while overhauling the sorry looking wheels with some new paint and polished the chrome. The previous weekend i repainted the ugly white towhook black. The car was also badly covered in some sticky crap since it had been sitting under a tree so i went through almost the entire body with resin polish. Still needs a proper waxing though. The only thing i've done to the motor was washed it and replaced all the vacuum hoses and it runs like new now. Next week im getting the missing plastic cover next to the driver side rear door. Then i need a new antenna aswell as a plastic center cap for the rear wheel. And thats about it ;D Im then running out of ideas on what to do with it. Probably sell it on only if i manage to get decent profit from it and buy something else. So far the costs are at a bit over 300€ which includes the price of the car and supplies i've had to buy.

About that knob, thats not a bad idea for boy racers who want to pretend like they're car is fast. The only real benefit from that is when you're driving a tail happy car on loose ground, you have to keep both hands on the wheel as much as possible and thats what the extension is good for. In normal use i would imagine that being just annoying. Who even drives a car with both hands anyway? In my oppinion its much more comfortable down where it usually is. But if you really want one, thats no big deal to build yourself.

How's the rust on the underside BlackAce? I see a little poking out on the front fender but the rest of the car looks fine.

How's the rust on the underside BlackAce? I see a little poking out on the front fender but the rest of the car looks fine. Im hoping to sell the car before i find out But it did pass inspection without faults in february so i guess its not that bad. I've done some rust repair and body work on the car but i havent had time to get on with the right front fender yet. Possibly this weekend. But yeah there is plenty of rust on this car. The bottom/inside part of the doors are pretty soft aswell as the area around the windshield. The rear bumpers bottom attachments are rusted off. The brake drums look pretty bad as well as the bake shields. The rear shock absorber top mounts have been welded sometime in the past but the quality of work seems to be far worse than even my welding. So yeah. The car does look good, but after a few years driving it in the salt its going to require some serious welding and new panels and doors So yeah, i want to get rid of it while it still holds together and looks good on the outside. Quite a few pics from last weekend. Wasnt bothered to upload all of them. After the fender is fixed its going up for sale. And yeah its a shame that these old cars wont be on the road much longer. The motor and drivetrain would last forever but its the chassis thats rusting away around it lol. I dont have the interest to fully restore some 200€ jap car. If i get some decent money from it, i would like to get some 80's american car for a summer cruiser. Such car would really be worth spending some time and money on.

Ah, that's why it looks so good lol. Looks like you did a really good job with the body work. It's hard to find any car of that age without pretty severe rust damage. Of course unless it's been garaged constantly and not driven much. Sometimes it's even hard to spot any rust on the outer surfaces, but the frame, under areas and inside the doors will be terrible. That's what happened with my old Buick. The frame was rusted to crap but you couldn't see any rust of the body.

Yeah well like i said i havent seen the underbody of this car yet. It could be well prevented and not rusted much at all. Compared to most other jap cars of this age, this really is in pretty decent shape. The rust left on the body is quite small. Just the lower areas of the doors have the worst rust. I could fix them as well but i dont have the proper tools for that at home and it would be alot of work. If the underbody and arches were properly washed and applied with rust protection mass this car could probably last another decade easily. Old japanese cars rust very easily and combined with the amount of road salt thats used here, its a disastrous combination. If someone really wants to go through all that trouble and a little spend money on it, why not. The car would only have to last another 5½ years until it could be put into museum plates and then you wouldnt have to pay vehicle tax anymore and the insurance would only be about 30€ a year.

Heh. My cousin's Toyota 4Runner has the galvanized steel body that was available. So the body is rust free, but the frame and other under parts are almost completely rusted away lol. The other week the trailer hitch was so rusted to the frame we had to tie it to a tree and it snaped a 6,000lb climbing rope. We finally knocked it loose with a maul. It's a beater now for sure, underpowered and not many features, but the older Toyota's are so much better than the new ones. Much better build quality, more reliable and better looking. The thing has 200,000 miles and has seen it's share of work. My aunt and uncle bought it new in 1997. Here's a pic I took a couple weeks ago with it parked behind me.

6th picture down from the top, my dad used to have the EXACT truck on the left back in the early 90's. Same color, mags, all that. I'm looking at buying a used but fairly new Toyota Tacoma. Anyone have an opinion or experience with one? No experience, but hear great things. Toyota's larger vehicles have always been good. Like the 4 runner. I would still buy one of those if I could find one mint for a reasonable price.

Agreed with Chris. Though I heard there was just a recall on some, something having to do with the steering column messing up the airbag I think.

Alright. I'm gonna need your insight kurt seeing as you've delt with v8's. I've been looking around forever for a nice Grand Marquis, particually a 98-04 and found this 01. I really wanted a Marquis with these type of wheels. I went online to see how much it would be to buy 4 new ones like these just incase I couldn't find a nice Marquis with them but that option was out of my price range for now. This one is clean as hell. I really want to know how much of a gas guzzler this beast is. I know my friend has a Marauder and he says he puts 75 a week in his tank. I don't know, I want it bad but I don't want my pockets to hurt. But then again, its what I want, so who cares right? Anyway, heres some pics. I couldn't get good ones seeing as the cars were squintched together and it was up against the gate so these don't do it that much justice, but this thing was in pristine condition.
