Yeah the "hot rodders" irritate me also, that isn't the proper way to drive, there's a video on youtube of some idiot from jersey driving a pete and he floors it bobtail and has to jam it into every freaking gear because he thinks it makes him look cool... Yeah you'll look cool when your truck is in the shop and I'm rollin bye in my old ass White ;D That's what I call abuse. Babying it is driving like a normal person in some instances and religious maintenance. Granted I drive full throttle alot, but I ease on it I don't slam down on the throttle to get there...

Well, the most fuel efficient way to get a truck up to cruise speed is surprisingly not to have an egg under your foot, it's getting it to cruise speed as fast as possible with the lowest among of shifting as possible. When I do that in the truck I usually drive (Volvo FH16 610hp rigid truck with a pup trailer weighing 104.000 pounds) I set off in 2nd low, rewing to 1500 shifts to 3rd high, rewing to 1850 shifts to 5th low, rewing to 1850 shifting to 6th high (it has a 14 speed with 2 crawlers) and that's it You might say it burns too much fuel to rew it that high but everytime you shift you loose power = loosing fuel and it's a proven fact the extra fuel you urn rewing that high is saved twice cause of the less among of shifting. And yes, I have tought drivers to drive the most fuel efficient way cause with the fuelprices over here it's something which has more focus the how much power you got in your truck.

Looks Like a knock off of an international..... As for the engines I've driven nearly every motor on the highway today rock wise I'm going with Detroit the century I'm driving now has a 12.7 500 HP and exactly 1558826 miles on it and has had no major work done on it according to the records and it pulls great up hills... Pulling wise I'm going with the isx cummins we have drop one gear and youre good... As for the cats ehh we have a few trucks that have them and they are alright but aren't as solid as the Detroit and don't pull as hard as isx but that's just me these new cat trucks are actually joint effort between international and cat same as the maxxforce engines. Cat sold the block to them, for rights to the Prostar....

I would never baby a diesel engine in a truck. They're meant to be worked hard and put to the max of what they're designed for. Even though I'm all for fuel economy, gotta keep the gears turning the way they're supposed to. I didn't say baby it to where you don't even touch the throttle lol. Get it up to its sweet spot not all the way up to 1800 and back down to the sweet spot. Yeah I know, I was just kinda making a statement. And no reddog, you shouldn't baby your engine. They built these engines for that purpose. Pure power to pull loads. You baby it, it's gonna carbon up fast. You can't hurt the engine by putting the throttle to the floor unless you're not shifting at the proper RPM. I'm not saying to pound on it and make it jump. Whatever weight your pulling and transimission depends. Driving under the speed limit or something or purposely taking it easy doesn't help anything. I don't even think it would help with fuel economy, depending on the max torque range of the engine.. I dunno, bora's a volvo tech. And he didn't disagree, so maybe I'm right. I don't really care anyways, I'm not here to seriously argue, just livening up this place with a little off topic conversation. ;D About the maxxforce engines. They look to be the most complex looking engine. Can't be good for labor pricing. I dunno jack all about them though, only had 1 experience with it, just looked at it and that's about it.

Yup Chris, just floor it, only reason not to is if you have traction problems which is why you usually don't floor it in the lower gears, when I put it in high range I just floor it

He dresses in all white wigger clothes, and keeps his shit too clean? If so i remember that video.

The maxxforce, omg i saw it under the hood when my bus driver opened the hood. I bet it would take DAYS just to get the turbo out because the engine is so crammed up with things. If you look at it fast, its like nothing is there, its just covered with everything lol

Jesus I thought they quit making 430HP's in the 90's lol. Dude, my dad pulls 2 53' tridem trailers at max legal weight with one. It takes like 20 minutes of flat road driving to reach 18th gear. Lmao. Damn. Luis:

Mark this down folks! CAT's Second Failed Attempt to get back into Trucking. All it is, is a Fucking New Prostar with Cat Logos Slapped on it and Remade inside. Like the other 1. it was an older Prostar. CAT looks like its touch has gone to hell

Like the other 1. it was an older Prostar. CAT looks like its touch has gone to hell Looks NOTHING like a ProStar. And International did that without Cats permission, thats why they could only sell them in Australia.... Cat had absolutly nothing to do with that ugly prostar cat. Even go to a cat dealer and ask.

Yeah ok. Who told you that? you can't take a brand name and slap it on your truck without the copyright. Is that also why CAT has those trucks on their website? because they didn't approve of it? that's the most rediculous thing I've ever heard.

I may have worded it wrong, but they are not allowed to slap the Cat name on their trucks in the US and many other countries. If you look, all those ugly prostars have steering wheels on the right... And im talking about this one... Hey, I may be wrong, but thats what the guy at Cat told me and my dad when we were there. Thats why you dont see them in the US
