~1 million polys!? Is that just one cab and one chassis variant? Even if the game had no trouble loading that, that is way excessive. I've yet to break 500,000 tris on an entire project, let alone a single configuration.
Can you verify that the actual pmg is indeed 56MB though?

Probably too much polies on a single part. Try to keep it about 50-60k. If I remember correctly max. is ~86k. If You have more, just simply split/separate/detach.

Default truck has 4 UVs and eut2.truckpaint.tsnmapuv.airbrush.altuv.fx mat.
diffuse (1.0, 1.0, 1.0) env_factor (0.073239, 0.073239, 0.073239) shininess 250 specular (1.5, 1.5, 1.5) add_ambient 0 fresnel (0.2, 0.9) aux[8] (0.0, 0.0, 0.0)

But try eut2.dif.spec.add.env.paint mat for 1UV. Use gray texture 1024x1024 plus vehicle reflection. add_ambient 0 diffuse (1.0, 1.0, 1.0) shininess 100 specular (0.4, 0.4, 0.4) env_factor (0.15, 0.15, 0.15)

Could be caused by the choice of flip flake color I guess, not entirely sure tho
