How do you save a Gloss.Png effectively?
Every time I make an attempt, I always make the paint too Glossly when I clearly wanted pretty close to matte.. I need more Info.

If I remember right, the format needs to be 8-bit (grayscale). If it's 24-bit (RGB), bad things happen. What software are you using?

yeah, even if you convert it to black and white in paint.net, it is still in rgb. i use gimp for that

Yeah, all I'm experienced with is Photoshop. The joys of explicitly setting the image mode. My only gripe is that alpha channels are flat images. It'd be nice to have a mode where alpha channels could be handled per-layer like RGB.

Yeah Paint.net fucks up the gloss, I usually just Google online grayscale converter and convert it like that. Full black 0 0 0 RGB alpha = no shine (matte)
