Thought I'd post this since this is where my life has been since the trucking games. The truck was given to me by my dad, He had bought it thinking he was going to do something but didn't. It is a 1979 Chevy 2wd reg cab Step side with no motor and transmission, original 6 cyl 3 speed trans. Truck was a mess But this truck will get me experience with just about everything because I've taken the whole thing apart and reassembled almost all of it. This has been an in class project at my school, I'm the cool kid in class with it no doubt! I've got all sorts of detailed pictures of my build and I can post them if anyone is interested. As for now I'll post my basic pictures cause it takes so long for me to copy and paste links lol, then carry on with my detailed ones. Got the motor spun bearing Bored to a 355, new EVERYTHING blasted Balljoints, bearings, bushings, everything 700r4 Home for the summer from last school year: THIS YEAR bed number 1 So bent, bed wood wouldnt fit strips were out of wack too bed number two as of today! If you guys like this, ill keep posting here!

Other than the 359, I'm rebuilding a Sonoma that was my great grandpa's. My brother can't drive worth a fuck and destroyed the poor truck. It's a 97 with 61,510 miles. I'm putting a 383 in it and making it a drag truck.

Nice! Any reason for going with a TH 700R4 instead of a floor-shift manual?

That is beautiful! So you basically tore it down to the frame, and now you're putting it back together. Looks like a lot of fun.

Thanks guys, so proud of myself on this one, doing way better than I expected. Reason for the 700r4 is for the overdrive so I can drive it nicely on the highway

Great job man, I like these kind of restoration projects, especially Chevy trucks Weird to see this truck was less rusted than my 03 S-10 4x4. Roads are full of salt up here... Anyways, keep posting them pics!

Question, did you get a new frame or did you sand the rust off and then add anti Corrosion paint?

That's what I wanted to say initially.

Question, did you get a new frame or did you sand the rust off and then add anti Corrosion paint? Frame was sand blasted, epoxy primer with tractor enamel paint. Little update before thanksgiving The white box is where my battery will go, it's aluminum and has a white sticker on it for scratch protection. My other project

Finally got a side put back together. First time I've seen this truck have a "complete" side since the day I took it all apart.

Heeere we go. Moment I've been waiting for, for a very long time. Took it on a quick drive! First time running under its own power which I believe since the mid 90's, according to some of the papers. Short video I know, it was a snapchat.
