Firstly:
I sincerely apologise if:
a) there is already a thread for this b) I'm not supposed to make this thread
I'm new here.
So, what truck brand do you prefer, based on looks, driveability, manliness, etc?
Personally, I'm a fan of Renault Premiums. I think they are so under-rated, and look mean with a bug bullbar on.

For me, it's Scania.
I'm as American as they come as far as trucks are concerned, but I've always liked Scanias.
I don't know why, but they just look cool to me, and I would definitely love to take the wheel of one if I ever did some European trucking.

From all of the trucks I've driven, I prefer Scania. Everything is just right on those trucks (except for those fucking door latches). Merc is very nice too, Volvo is nice, DAF feels a bit cumbersome, MAN has terrible throttle response and Iveco's interiors are a bit cheap. And I wouldn't even want to be found dead in a Renault.

Definitely Scania. Sweet sweet trucks. Only if they had Benz's engines

From someone who will most likely never drive one, I think I like MAN the best. They are great looking trucks. From what people tell me, scania and DAF are the best quality. I dunno....I gave the vote to MAN but DAF is right up there.

How come peterbilt wasn't an option? Just saying, but I don't think Peterbilt is a European Truck Brand. Anyway, some Peterbilts are really just DAFs. Goes for Kenworths as well: Anyway, I forgot to put Foden and ERF, even though they both were dropped a few years back.

Well technically, Paccar owns Peterbilt, Kenworth, and DAF so they both could possibly be considered european because of their ties to daf, but they also aren't really manufactured there. However, I've seen many videos of people with Petes and Kenworths in Europe so they are over there.

However, I've seen many videos of people with Petes and Kenworths in Europe so they are over there. There are som but they're rare, too much hazzle converting them to suit our equipment, first thing that screw up is the electrical system due to you running only 12V, we use 24V systems on trucks It requires a rebuild to suit the standard for trailer lights and ABS/EBS.
You also need to have a complete brake test done with all the calculations to prove the brakes actually suits our standards, it's quite expensive to have a complete brake test done on a test track, finally there's the length issue. Max length from front bumper to 5th Wheel center is 180" and you'll need room for the frontend of the trailer which needs at least 84" which will leave you wit a 2.4" gap between the back of the sleeper and the frontcorner on the trailer when making a turn.
All this makes them useless if you ask me
EDIT: Forgot about the 5th Wheel height, to suit a standard trailer without being overheight it must be no more than 46" Good bye 24.5" rims and hello 22.5" with 70 profile tyres

Also I believe the previous cab overs which were manufactured for Peterbilt were made by Renault. So were the older macks too.
