The interface has changed, some new graphical features, a consist builder, routes now available through the workshop, and best of all, better for performance(at least on my comp.)! There is some other stuff but what I have stated are the things IMO that stuck out the most to me.

Mine downloaded in < 1h with no problems. Also, now that I am able to play it, I can see the changes. Every time it gets easier and easier to use.

Hey Arctic how did the download go for you? I'm having trouble with mine I did not have any issues with my download but on other forums I have heard issues. Best advice that others and I are giving is to verify game files until it says it doesn't download anymore files and of course clean the blueprint cache. Other than that I have no ideas.

Tried all of those several times and no go. Doing a fresh install now and hopefully that'll do it.

Did u have any issues during the download? I.E. connection issues, interruption of the download, etc? The only other thing I could suggest it to wait a few days and see if steam sorts it out on its own... That's what people did last year and it eventually got ironed out. If your anything like me though, you may not be able to let an error rest... Random issues like this suck when trying to fix them. Keep us posted! Good luck bud!

I have no idea if there was any issues during the download, I turned it on and went to school. When I came home it was done and that was that. Hopefully it'll iron itself out in a few days if this new install doesn't work. I've had this game since the first one and this is the first issue I've had during an update. I'll keep you posted and thanks for the help!

I did the same, left it downloading and went to school. I deleted the game from my pc and downloaded the new one and had no problems, the menu reminds me of ios7 and the coloring and reflections seems to be much better. I was looking into run8 but i might stick with this.

I have both of them but I tent to play Train Simulator more because it has more routes and rolling stock. Get tired of rollin through the desert in a Gevo on Run8.

Run 8 is like having another job, I love trains, but I don't want to spend my free time going over every tedious procedure that I would need to in real life to operate a train. But hey, some people enjoy that kind of stuff.
@adam, did you get it working?

I played around for a few minutes yesterday after Adam helped me get mine working (Ihope he was able to fix his). I really like the new menu layout and ingame interface. I personally dont see much of a graphics improvment but then again I didnt play for long. It looks promising and i am really looking forward to a good session of playing. Now they just need Multiplayer lol

Glad that you got it working and are enjoying it Corey.
I haven't messed around with mine for a few days so it's still not working yet. These next 2-3 days are going to be pretty busy for me so hopefully I can figure it out later in the week. Looking forward to seeing some screenshots if anyone has any to post.

i might have to try this game out. ow long before the "its boring fuck off" time On this particular run I was very involved. In order to maintain forward speed and avoid wheel slip I had to constantly be adjusting my throttle and sander. It really depends on what route you drive. I think Donner Pass is the most fun, but I haven't bought Marias Pass or the other monatana/rocky mountain pack yet either. I want to but I don't want to buy them lol. Cajon pass isn't really as involved or interesting, but Donner pass is. Horseshoe curve is somewhat boring aswell. It's a fun game if you like trains. Steam engines are hard as fuck to drive though...

Steam engines are hard as fuck to drive though... probably going to get a try. any demo? No, there's no demo, but it's a good game. You get a free upgrade to the newest edition each year. I bought it back when it was $20 and called Railworks. They upgraded me to RW2, RW3, TS2013, and TS2014 for free each year. There are lots of DLCs. People make free DLCs, but the best ones are the ones that are in the steam store. @ Ford4ever, It really depends on what the run is. You can do quick drives like this one is, and pick how long it will take you as you can set the start and destination. There isn't a Donner Pass level that's under an hour long, most of them are over 2 hours long. The Cajon pass are the short ones. Horseshoe curves vary, some short some long. You can always just save it and finish it later if you don't want to spend 3 hours driving it.
