As most of you know, sometime between January 16th and 19th, Truckmodshop will(unless unforeseen circumstances arise) be upgrading to Proboards Software version 5. Once this change is completed, you will need to have a Proboards Global account in order to login to the forum. This post will outline the steps required to crate an account, and then link it to existing forum accounts.
*NOTE*: Proboards Global Accounts cannot be linked to forum account before the forum has upgraded to v5!
Registration.
1. Visit Proboards.com/register.
2. Type in your email address(this does not have to be the same as any existing Proboards forum accounts). Then click continue.
3. Enter your desired account information. Passwords must have six or more characters in them. When finished, clickcontinue.
4. Read the Proboards Terms of Service. Then click the checkbox that indicates that you have read and agree to the Proboards terms of Service. When you are finished, click continue.
5. Prove that you are human by solving the SolveMedia Puzzle. Responses are not case-sensitive.
6. After you successfully complete the puzzle, an activation email will immediately be sent to your specified email address. Check your email in a new tab and click on the link in the email to activate your account. if you do not find the message, check your spam filter.
7. Copy and pate your activation code into the box, then click continue.
8. If you entered the correct code, your account will have been activated, and you will be taken to your new profile page.
Account Linking
1. Visit the forum you would like to link your global account to. If TMS has not converted to v5 when you're reading this post, you can test the account linking process by performing these steps on truckmodshop.freemessageboards.com/.
2. Click the login button.
3. Enter the credentials of your Proboards global account at the login page, then click continue.
4. When informed that you have logged into the forum, you will be given the choice to either create a new account or enter the login information of an existing one. enter your account information and click continue.
5. If you correctly entered your account information, you will receive a success message and a confirmation email.
You may now log into the forum with either your Global account Credentials or your local account info (both will log you into the forums local account).
Account Management
To manage your global account settings, login at proboards.com. You will land at the "my forums" page, which lists all the accounts linked by your global account. You can visit the boards by clicking on their names, or view messages, notifications participated topics and bookmarks.
Adjust your account settings by clicking on the "account settings" tab.
Here you can change basic account info like email and birthdate as well as unlink forum accounts, export member data and delete the global account.
Unlinking Forum Accounts
1. Log in to Proboards.com
2. Click on the Account Settings tab
3. Click on Unlink.
4. Select the forum from the dropdown box that you wish to remove an account from.
5. If you only have one account linked from that forum, it should correctly "guess" the account. Otherwise, select the account you wish to unlink from the second dropdown menu.
6. Enter and re-enter a new password for the local forum account.
7. Click Save Changes.
Unlinks can take up to 12 hours to take into effect, during which time the account will be un-accessible please plan accordingly.
