Vista home premium is what I have nothing wrong with it perfect like the style and has great security annoys me when it asks permission to run some program but I still like it, makes you think about the damage it might cause to your computer I got McAfee antivirus with my computer and im gonna honestly say it sucks so I went out and bought my own antivirus ( and I mean I went out to the store) I went out and purchased Kaspersky Antivirus it came with 1 year so im just gonna reinstall it and get the 1 year thing again... mcafee is good i have had it since i got this pc in 04( old i know right) but my mom got a new pc and i was playing haulin on there once and her virus which is new i guess but its messed up i was playing a game and it popped up and crashed the game i mean i like xp over vista cause on xp you get alot more features on vista nah not so many

mcafee is good i have had it since i got this pc in 04( old i know right) You think it's good because it does fuck all and doesn't pick anything up, therefore you know no different. Kaspersky isn't as good as it's made out to be either... and Norton, holy shit, talk about a monumental performance hogger and it's not that great either. I've tried many AntiVirus programs including McAfee and Norton, and I can tell you now that AVG and AntiVir (both the same program basically) is the best I've ever used. I've got AVG, but the same applies for AntiVir. And they're free! I've got Vista Home Premium and absolutely no paid extra security, and I can say it's the most secure I've ever been. I've got AVG Free Edition and PC Tools Firewall Plus (both free), and that's absolutely it. And in the 8 months I've had this computer, not ONE problem. On my old computer it was a different story, AVG worked overtime... always was picking up stuff in files I downloaded and getting rid of them. And at the same time I had McAfee and it did absolutely NOTHING. Just sat there sleeping in the background. Infact I even got a virus through McAfee's updates. Yeah, work that one out, it's saying something...

Well after I got Kaspersky after Mcafee it picked up a how should I put this handful? of threaths and I mean handful after that no problem with my computer what so ever. and if you think Vista sucks cause something crashes on it maybe you should look into why something crashes on it maybe its not Vista maybe its you doing something wrong Use Google or something before saying it sucks actually try to find the problems and if it really does suck..well like Chris said lets see some solid evidence

And another thing like Dan said, if a program doesn't work properly on Vista, 9 times out of 10 if you run it as an administrator and in XP compatibility mode it'll work fine. Not a lot of people know about that.

Fuck, go to a pawn shop and buy a key for 30 bucks. ;D The thing about crashing programs and having them not work is because 2 reasons: 1. The games are out of date 2. you don't know how to get them to work. windows vista uses directX 10, but you might need to install 9.0 still to play older games, or even 8.0. that's a first. Second, the core of the windows registry in vista is nearly the exact same as XP. Therefor, saying your programs won't work is because you are too lazy or slow to find out how. Fuck, I found out how to play MSDOS games like doom for vista and scorched earth FFS. but no, I'd switch to home basic.....still better than XP. Remember, they stopped updating XP, so you're completely vulnerable on the internet. It doesn't matter, you can update the shit out of your antivirus, they're gonna find a ton of holes to get through eventually. Actually, maybe wait a few months and get windows 7. I hear it's better than vista fo sho. BTW, anyone who has a newer model graphics card, is totally wasting their money by not having vista. And btw, you better get used to the new OS' coming out, because soon you won't be able to play any newer games on XP since it's not directX 10 compatible. I'm gonna laugh if by the time rig n roll comes out it runs on directX 10....all you XP users would be fucked! ;D

Don't start posting links to that shit. And any fool knows not to download windows illegally or your computer is gonna be fucked up. Although, you're probably better off downloading vista than using a full version of XP, considering there's no more updates for XP. I dunno, but it seems most of you are just noobs that hate vista, it's not vista's fault you didn't download something correctly. The whole point of having vista is to protect your computer, which you can no longer do with XP. If you can't figure out vista or you can't handle like 300MB of extra RAM, then you need to stay away from using a PC and move onto a mac. Even mac's are a joke, people say you can't hack em....yeah right, they're more easily compromised than a regular PC with vista installed. Agreed. I used to be scared of upgrading because Ive heard so many people having bad experiences, but after I actually started using it, I loved it, and still do. I wouldn't even consider downgrading because thats just retarded. Alot of normal users jump on the Vista bandwagon. Saying, "VISTA SUCKS! YADAYADAYADA". Vista is getting better with each update. And speaking of updates, I like how Vista updates you saying what hardware you need to update. I just love Vista in general, its just some MAIN things I need to get access to I cant(Hardware Acceleration for one).
