I just had my first truck driving lesson today, the guy said it went really well. It takes getting used to though, It's an older scania with high and low range, 8 gears, synchronysed. Before you start yelling "Ah synchronised is shit cus it isn't any fun." I'll tell you, it's less synchronised than you think, I can't just change gear when I want to, I have to press it against the next gear's synchronising cone, let it speed up the whole lot and then push it in, and all of that takes 5 to 10 seconds in total. Let me just say, it's fully awesome!

There is exactly 10,006 miles of safety zone between me and you. I should be okay then. Nice work anyways, and I know those old Scania's, even with synchros are fun. Was it a V8?

Awesome row! good to hear. Fuck the USA, come to canada instead. Who gives a shit about latif anyways. ;D (j/k, of course)
Honestly, it's mostly kids and veteran truckers that complain about anything besides a regular stick. Mind you, I have no clue as to what synchronized gears are.... all I know, is people hate on transmissions way too much. I like em all, tbh.

synchronized gears are where there is a ring on the edge of the gear, usually brass, or another soft metal, that will slow down or speed the gear up when they are meshed, to make it easier to engage. non-synchronized gears not have that, so thats why you have to double clutch.
and rowan, we have a 6 speed international where i work that is supposed to be synchronized, but they are worn out, so it isnt.
