Me and corey got a 9800GT Superclocked 512MB, from tigerdirect. Around 100$ , Now they might be alot cheaper. Dunno but just saying the 8600 gts is a solid haulin card, cod will run good too (MW, WaW) but try doing IV or FSX and it will shit a brick (even low res) You haz 8600GT? If so what? 512? 256? I had a 8600GTS 256, Almost could run GTA IV on low at a 1280x1024x32. Wasnt bad.

My 8600 is either 512MB ddr2, or 256MB ddr3, I forget. Funny thing is, now that i can use PCI-E cards, I find ALOT of nice ones really cheap. Mine for example. I haven't even overclocked it yet and I get about 50 frames in haulin, which is good compared to the 20 I used to get ;D Only thing is I don't wanna overclock it because I only have a 450w PSU and no cooling system. I would grab the 8600

I have a Dell Xp
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Memory: 1534MB RAM
Would I be better with the 8600 or the 9800? I am only really looking for a card that will run Haulin' without lag using high poly models, as I play pretty much no other games. And is around $100 (a little more or less is okay)
BTW Hope you're okay with me asking about mine as well in here Latif, I've been wanting a new card for a long time (10 FPS is getting annoying).

Scott, if you haven't upgraded your power supply, I would get a 9800, but buy a power supply to go with it. 500w and up should be fine. But that might cost over 100, so idk. Maybe a 8600 with a nice cooling system, and a power supply.
Latif, heck, get a 8800 dude. Get a 450w power supply to go with it and your in buisness. Only reason why I say lower than a 9 series is that the 9 series need alot more cooling, and alot more power.
Oh and another note, the more demand you put on your processor(high-end graphics card, running a demanding game) the more cooling your gonna need for it. The processor can only handle but so much, depending on which on you have.

Thanks for the information Cedric.
Now, for the power supply and cooling systems, do they come with the card or do you have to buy them separate?

Just go with that 9800GT Super i showed you. Itl be fine and its not high priced eather. Thanks for the information Cedric. Now, for the power supply and cooling systems, do they come with the card or do you have to buy them separate? What you mean? Fans always come on video cards. or else it would burn it up

Alright, I'll shoot for getting the 9800.
And I was just making sure, I have never bought a video card before and wasn't sure if it came on it or if you had to buy it separate as well.

They come with fans, but I would still buy a few case fans like Dan said. Its optional, but its kinda recommended.
