The government is so freaking stupid, they don't realize the retaliation that would take place had something like this passed. Oh well, its over for the time being...

Seems reasonable and will help to the blind fucks out there (A good chunk of the population.) but if you actually take the damn time to read around you'll find out what it will do. When obama says it's a bad idea, that means it's a bad idea, after all,he's the master of bad ideas! We already know what it will do. If you don't see this as bad then there is someone else here.....aka YOU..... who is blind. And a good example of why everyone in the world calls americans stupid. Like seriously, this is why everyone hates american govt. Just another way trying to police the world. Just go away already, nobody likes you. Seriously.

So true were supposed to be free yet we get arrested for stupid crap like jaywalking, public intox. If your walking on a sidewalk or being a passenger in a car while drunk its illegal. Then theres the D.O.T. and the C.S.A. crap. Basically the government is trying to turn into the next north korea.

Chris,i didn't mean in ANY way to sound like i support it,because i DON'T,but i suppose it did sound like it.
The point i was trying to make is that there are people who didn't read about the bill and what it would do,on the OUTSIDE it sounds fine, until you read it,but as usual, nobody understands what i say. (Probably because i can't focus.)
I am against it and i did sign that Google thing they had,i also believe it is OR would have been another step towards controlling us fully, they take it one at a time to achieve it and often succeed.

Seriously. its all about power and money, the government wants it all. we call them democrats/liberals but there are other names. we need some conservatives in office, when we get them, some things will change. but the overall picture of power and money will not. and that is something that will go on until there is another civil war.

Nothing small will really help, we need a bloody revolution like other countries in the past, Only one way to solve something like this, to start over.

...for us Canadians now we have to worry about Bill C-11 ( In Canada which is basically Canadian Pipia and SOPA FORCED upon us by USA by ways of economic sanctions of the same type they imposed on middle eastern countries...which i take GREAT offence for since my Uncle died for the Bull shit US "War on terror" which us Canadians have had forced upon us by a government we cant even fucking vote for. I'm tired of a government i have no democratic control over in ANY way ruling my life.
Anyways...its time for the world to remind the Americans its not the USW its the WWW
I can go on even more on my thoughts on US, including how damn religion SHOULDN'T be in the government Or on several fights in the US... which to most ppl outside of USA ( least in a developed country) think SHOULDN'T be issues....but i wont since that's slightly off topic LOL

Not meaning to go more off topic but whats worse...it seems most ppl are anti Obama...and most of the republican candidates scare the FUCK out of most ppl NOT in the states which makes things well......Scary.

Now that Congress has had time to process last week's internet blackout, a consensus has emerged: SOPA and PIPA are toxic for politicians, and going anywhere near them could cost them their re-election.
Freedom is winning.
Together, we've done something amazing-- never have so many people stood up to defend a free and open internet. Here's a San Francisco Chronicle article about how it all came together: The Largest Online Protest in History Started Here.
And here's Carl Franzen at Talking Points Memo:
"Behind the scenes, Hill staffers from both sides of the aisle confirmed to TPM that the entire piracy debate had become so 'toxic' that virtually no lawmakers were likely to be ready to re-engage it anytime soon."
Experienced Congress-watchers are telling us they've never seen anything like this.
Internet users, tech companies, and non-profits joined together to defend fundamental rights on the internet. To a lot of elites in Congress and the corporate world, the internet is just something that lazy teenagers use to spam people with pictures of photoshopped unicorns. The blackout showed that the peer-to-peer internet is about empowerment, and that when we work together we can defeat the corrupt politics of Washington D.C.
The New York Times and Talking Points Memo have both published good articles on how the web blackout was organized.
For months, four senators were the only force blocking passage of PIPA/SOPA. They even promised to filibuster the bill back when most politicians were against them. We need to make sure we support and vote for leaders like them who are willing to going to go out on a limb and oppose SOPA before it was popular to do so. It's great that we pressured all those other shlubs into opposing web censorship, but these guys deserve the real cred and our support: Click here to donate (scroll down).
What's next? The Fight is not over, already new threats to web freedom are starting to emerge (particularly in Europe) and we're getting ready. Stay tuned, and for more updates, follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
Thank you again for standing up for a free and open internet!
