i think you cant just say .... flatbed is where the moneys at.. van is where the moneys at... it all depends.. fuck theres a million different things you can load onto flatdecks and a million different things you can stuff in a van.. I bet if you have a van full of some god damn insulation it wont pay very well but if you gotta haul some pricey delicate shit then theyll pay you more.. but god knows. I always draemed of having my own truck and trailer (van) and just doing that. Reefer, honestly Ive got nothin against that either.. I wouldnt mind that.. as long as im goin long distance Exactly, there's a million different things you can haul. But the most that pays is flatbed, up here atleast. Or even better, oilfield shit. With dryvan and reefer, those are the most hauled trailers, and the easiest to move. They require less effort to move, and less complications, and they are constantly changing prices to move freight for them too. aka being undercut by someone else. But it's not dependant on what exactly you're specifically hauling, it's about what your company gets for the load. i know my dad flat decks, alutec super b's, he went to fort mac with drilling mud, very good $$$ maker, but then, or course, the recession hit..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................;l...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................;l

most of the people that i know of in the "717"(the people w/ the real good lookin shit), they mainly haul ltl reefer shit, & they make quite a bit haulin for this one brokerage company called "Stoltzfus Truck Brokerage Inc" outta Honey Brook, PA right off hwy 322. if you wanna good lookin truck/trailer, your own company & still make a livin, thats who i'd haul for if pullin a reefer

Well I live not that far from Aaron. I cant speak for his area, but end dumps don't really come around here, atleast I dont see 'em. BUT, dump trucks? Heck I see atleast 10 everyday. The dump trucking is booming around here.
And yea, Honey Brook is where the nicest rides, AND best freight is.

yeah dump work & flatbed work up here is pretty good, but i can also throw in tanker work up for the many natural gas fields that have sprung up in the past year & a half, seeing a lot of stuff i've never seen before & what not, its a great time to haul equipment & what not for these energy companies up here(Chesapeake is the energy company that is doin the natural gas shit & what not, w/ Haliburton providing most of the equipment)

I find that dumb in a way id like to have it in easy reach those longer shifters will make your arm tired.

I've never used an extended one, but I prefer the straight stick in the Pete versus the bent pos's in the 8600 international

Me too, straight standard length stick. Those long ones look dumb imo.

I came across this guys Youtube. He talks about pros and cons to truck driving. I've seen some videos here and there, but he really goes in depth about it, money wise, personal life, daily encounters, etc. Check him out. Some of the stuff might not be as relavant today because of the recession and such, but most of it is pretty good info. www.youtube.com/user/mikeyssmail
