Some say there bad dude im going to find some reviews about them on the trucking forum ill send them your way. And theres a terminal next to the dc my dad gets his loads haven't heard anything bad or good about them go put in an app it wouldn't hurt. Wait local depot? Maybe you can snag something local.

The app could hurt though. He might get a paper cut....
And SpikeL Why is it more "fun" using the clutch? I find it more of a bitch personally. If I was going up a hill, then obviously I'd use the clutch. But that's about it.

I don't like the clutch only for taking off and stopping that's the only use for me don't matter if dad's going up a hill we still float the gears when he has to shift.

Quickest training. Tanker you gotta get all sorts of permits and shit. I would assume Bulk too. But decks and tanker is where the money is at.

if it was up to me id pull dry vans only. But flatbeds... man its a hardcore PITA tying down loads and figuring out what to put where and in what order.. not to mention when you dont get to load it yourself that must be even shittier. Or when its 20 below and your tarping some load, fuck that. I want to back up to the trailer, hook that bitch up, and drive.. Tanker would be alright I guess if your into that short haul stuff.
Anyway Ill tell you one thing though... I dont enjoy muddy ass shitty construction sites and tying down all sorts of messy loads onto messy equipment and dealing with rookie zoom boom drivers and all that shit. Basically everything about construction sites sucks balls. When i move up in this world ima be stayin on pavement only.

Why has nobody started waffling on about shifting without using the clutch yet? Come on, the first person to start gets a cookie. damnit you asshole, this topic was on suggestions, not truck driving, but clearly the title is truck driving, we all have suggestions on things, thats what luis started with is suggestions. Dryvan/Reefer FTW

My suggestion is end dump. Vans and reefer your always bumping a dock same for flatbed you wait a long ass time if it's drop and hook then ill go for it. But i like dry vans reefer and flat ussualy pays more but tanker has not been affected only a bit. But i don't know what the industry holds right no some are making money some aren't it's hard out here.

Yeah, deck is where the money's at. If you're gonna own your own truck, go for the long distance thing. Either that or oilfield shit pays good too but you gotta deal with those types of guys.....which is..... *facepalm*

Yea, flatbed pays pretty good. I mean, starting off obviously not. Tanker pays quite a bit too. More than dryvan thats for sure. Atleast over this way. Only thing is tank haulers don't go long distance as much.

I company haul flatbed right now and I like it. Its more of a challenge tying down your load and having to watch it the entire trip. If I had a choice I'd still run flatbed.

well if you start haulin grain you are goin into farmers fields and all that shit and if the wheat or what ever your haulin gets wet its a real pain in the ass to get of the sides and if your switching cargo like from wheat to whatever you need to sweep the trailer out grains a pain but i would rather haul flatbeds because it is more of a challenge

Car hauling, now that's a challenge! Especially when you're moving shitty tiny ass cars in 1+ feet of snow in unplowed lots. Bitch much? Yeah I went with my dad this winter, and they forgot to call to cancel him, so we were the only ones there. It took us 5 and a half hours to get loaded. Not to mention we had to throw the jewelry on to get in the lot be fore we even loaded And after we got loaded, we spun out on the freeway on ramp. It was a bad day, 1 city load normally takes 4-5 hours total( loading, driving there, unloading driving back) This took 15 hours.... The big plus to this was, seeing as he's a city driver, he's paid hourly. 8 hours straight time, 7 hours double time=about 3 days worth of pay($700)
Anyways My choices from greateest to least are: 1.) Car hauling( but shitty economy says otherwise) 2.) Heavy haul shit 3.) Tanker(Easiest job ever) 4.) Flatbed 5.) Logging(Challenge)
