My dad, 2 of my uncles, my grandpa. My dad hasn't been a trucker for his whole life. When I was bron until I was about 8, he was a millwright. He ended that and got back in the rocking chair. Whenever I get the chance, I'm there too.
I love driving, and I think, what better way to make money, and do something I love while I'm doing it.

My dad has been driving since I was 3, maybe a bit younger. My great uncle was a trucker too, but I didn't know him, he died back in the 60's or 70's in nova scotia in a truck accident. But, anyways, I mostly always liked trucks and riding in them. Even when my dad wasn't driving for a living when I was a kid I would always go to the library to fish out truck and car books.

Absolutely nothing.
First time I had anything to do with trucking was when I just happened to try the demo of Haulin'. Was the only trucking related thing in my life, and still is.

Depending where we are, we'll either both unload Or he'll eat his lunch so he doesn't have to stop later for it. Then the time he would have spent on his lunch break, is the time I get to drive. So it works out pretty well. lol

i drove for a spell back in the '70's...hauled building materials around the tri-state region here...no long haul...long hours, tho'...we had several different trucks and trailers in the yard, but my favorite one was the old '48 Ford F-6 Snubnose dump truck i got to drive to the dump once a week...it was a wrestling match all the way...it looked like this with a dump bed: www.bernsauction.com/ferris/48%20ford%202.JPGthen, in August of '07, Lovely Assistant was going on vacation with her folks and i stayed home to take care of the dogs...she said i could get a new video game to help keep me occupied, so we went to Wal-Mart to look around...there wasn't much of a selection for PC games, a NASCAR racing game and a trucking game called Haulin'...i had 'em both in my hands and was leaning towards the racing game, but decided the trucking game looked kinda cool, so i got it... she has regretted that ever since...lol

mine is that i used to watch the trucks go by when i was little. like, we'd be playing a game outside in gym class, and id just space it and watch the trucks. then my dad got into it for a year or so, and i just fell in love whenever id ride with him. since i turned 18, i got my cdl, and drive every day now (sadly)

I grew up with my dad owning a couple dumptrucks. nothing special, an old LN Ford and some old internationals. I remember looking at truck papers alot too and building lego semis. Then not tell my 20s was I around trucks again. I ran a frontend loader in a pit and loaded dumptrucks. Been in and out of dumptrucks since I was a kid, just recently I got off my lazy ass and got my CDL.

hm.....what got me into trucking? well. when i was little i never was into pokemon..or you ge oh or what ever....always, monstertrucks, firetrucks, ATV's, and...18 wheelers. somewhere in a memory box or somthing. i still have my first little cherios truck. i really got focused on trucks when my dad and jimmy(the guy we bought the truck from...the guy i drove the dump truck for,...the guy thats like..my 2nd dad) became close friends. my dad was 38 when he got behind the wheel of jimmys old 359 puling a grain wagon. it was his first time driving, he said he was just like the others...grinding gears, and sweating. but he fell in love with trucks. n every now n then we would stop by jimmys mechanic shop. i would climb in and on every inch of every truck. there was a purple volvo wia64tes sitting in the back of jimmys shop, all the tires were flat, but it still ran n stuf. so my dad asked jimmy what was the truck doing there? he said its a repo and i let the bank keep it here. he said well how much they want for it? the price was 11k. my dad bought the truck, bought all new tires, got it running, hired a driver, and leased the truck onto M.S. carriers. about 1 month passed and he found out that the driver was just a typical driver. had his pocket full of money, so whats he do? buys him some beer n starts slackin on the job. my dad found this out. fired the driver quit his off shore job, n jumped in the truck for the first time going cross country. over the next 6 months, my dad n i explored just about the whole country, except for about 5 states. over this time, he quit M.S, because swift bought them out. we then hired on with a local tank company, hauling hot liquid. quit them, because they were stealing money. hired on with a company out of alabama hauling vans. quit them because of the stealing money crap again...then he bought his own van. all of his outgoing runs were from my town, from Falcon rice mill, hauling 50lbs bags of rice going all over the country. and going from there with whatever get loaded.com had. time passed on and he was rolling to phoenix,AZ...about 20 mins from my house, where he straightened an S curve n laid the truck over. luckly he wasnt hurt. but he got out of trucking. that is mainly how i got into trucking n stuff. my dad went to work for a drilling company rebuilding living quarters across the LA coast. once he was done, they laid him off because he had no more work. then he bought another truck from jimmy which is the good ole green FLD he drives today...n i still love going truckin!!! THE END!
