My dad had a '91 Reitnouer he ordered extra arch for it and he never flattened it out in the 14 years he had it.

Mac flatbeds are meant to keep that arch, because Mac's are primarily made to haul coils and other loads where the weight is highest in the center And as Tyler said you can custom order them, and I have mine set up as a coil hauler, so you can put 80,000lbs on the deck and still have that arch

That is what it's there for. I don't see a purpose to having a flatbed that doesn't flatten out. If it didn't that would make the load unstable, especially heavier loads. It's meant to support extra weight, it's not meant to be there so it doesn't bend. That's stupid.

98% of flatbeds arch like that, my brother use to pull Benson, Transcraft & Wilson flatbeds, they all flattened out when you loaded them down, but if you notice on a Mac when its arched up like that the bottom of the frame is parallel with the ground, so does it seem practical to have the frame bow down in the middle when the trailers loaded? No it doesn't, Mac's are built to hold that arch, they aren't made for typical flatbed freight, they are meant for coils and other stuff that has the heaviest point in the middle of the trailer

Dude aaron just stop you don't have to become a super trucker. Aww I'm so sowwy I didn't know a non-truck driver could become a super trucker, but cool thanks, I was just stating the fact, I made the trailer to be as realistic as possible, so when he comes in saying shit that is against my hard work it irritates me a little bit, and then we got people like you who don't like me and come in and bitch every time I say something, do me a favor and mind your own damn business next time... Bora I'm sorry for hijacking your thread, great work man hope to keep seeing more from you Oh and worse part about it, is I originally made this trailer as a favor for Night Train, and it seems that's hes about the only person I've never seen use it, boy just makes me think I'm wasting my time

That's right..... but, I just asked my dad about it, and he said it makes no sense really since the arch is there to support the heavy load. In other words, an arch being the strongest shape, there will only be an arch with a certain amount of weight if it's to be stable, especially for a moving object. How much, it depends on the trailer and the shape of the arch. But a trailer that isn't supposed to loose an arch wouldn't be a very safe trailer, that's why it doesn't make sense to me..... it may be true, I know I wouldn't want that huge coil or load of I-beams pushing itself forward.... I'd be scared to use the brakes. An arch is an unstable surface. That's why suspension bridges are hardly used for busy roads, and bridges that need extra support multiple arch's are used underneath the bridge strictly for support.

Oh well, I have never worked with a Mac trailer a day in my life, so I don't know first hand, I'm just going by what I've read and what people have told me
