New rule. You are not allowed to post more than 6 screenshots or photos in a single post. This includes all kinds of photos or screenshots that falls under any topic under all parts of this forum. You may post links if you have more than 6. Same for events like truck/car shows. Another solution is to have a publicly open photobucket account. Double posting will result in a 5 day ban. If this rule isn't followed you will have your post deleted no questions asked.

I actually like the rule. I would of maybe done 8 but 6 is fine. It's rediculous how many pics some people post and most of them look the same.

Thanks.
I'd also like to remind of the 1440x900 rule. Screenshots don't need to be any bigger than this, because they're automatically resized to fit. That being said, alot of slow loading is caused by people not resizing their screens. I have a code I put into this forum to automatically scale to 1440x900 biggest size, but it doesn't actually resize the pics. Some pics can be huge and it will still take forever to load because they weren't resized. So please resize them. Because those screenshots will be deleted too and you'll face the same punishment as if you posted 10 screenshots.

I think screens should be 800 x 600 as the huge ones show up huge for me, and don't resize until after the whole page loads.
Well, guess we won't be getting as many shots from Art in a single post. What about using clickable thumbnails, Chris?

What about using clickable thumbnails, Chris? It would be worthless. The image has to load in its entirety first before being resized. It's kinda like the problem you just described having.

I dunno but I just wish ppl would follow the rules and have common sense. I have a blazing fast internet connection and on average takes 3 to 4 minutes for a page of screenshots to load, because people don't resize them properly.

I don't know. I have a pretty average everthing and it never takes much more than 30 seconds. I think it's just another one of those moments where a few people that just don't get it ruin it for those of that can use a little common sense. I disagree with the rule, but that's just my opinion.

Perfect, I hate it so much when people post like 20 pictures (literally) of random screens. I look through the screenshots section to see interesting pictures..and only 3 or so at a time. And i have fast internet, it still takes forever.

I think the load time has something to do with it; but I think it has more to do with people using common sense and not cluttering that section up with screens of every damn frame from every damn trip

May I just add I don't believe you should be able to just continuously post in the screen shot thread without at least occasionally posting pics?

honestly i dont get the point see as if 2 or more ppl post in a single thread it still going to have the same amount of photos in it in the end well only if you dont get happy about it and decide to post a million pics in a single post

Mike is right though, except I've never checked to see if the board counts posts or page length as a trigger to make another page. If it goes by page length, then its gonna be the same anyway you slice it..

If each post only has 6 photos then the page as a whole comprising of 25 posts (I think it's 25) will be considerably less than it would otherwise. If we let you have 8 instead of 6 for example, that all adds up and means there's an extra 50 photos or screenshots to load each time.

It's 20 posts per page. I don't see the point in allowing more than 6, or photos bigger than the size limit. It's pointless and annoying.

So its a double wammy. We can't post more than six (Im cool with) and we have to resize each picture. Is this for people with dial-up or something? I have a 3MB DSL connection (SUPER SLOW) and yeah the pics take a while, but I don't think we need 2 rules for it. Whats a few seconds out of your life...

Its because of people who post 30 screenshots 3 times a day, and people who post huge ass pictures all the time, and we all know some people on this forum who did that. And honestly I think it was a pain in the ass scrolling through 3 posts of 30 pictures on the same page from the same person or having to move my mouse all over a page and keep getting booted to the top because somebody huge ass pictures have to load.

I don't see why there is so much debate about this, rules are the rules. Personally I think people should get one warning, and after that it is temp bans. If there are too many temp bans, then boot them..... as stated earlier, people will get the message real quick when they are booted! But hey thats just me hahaha. admins have the final say.....

I like this rule, but some people are still posting big screens!! You now in the screens area you can automatically resize them if you set them on something(Admin can), would that be a good idea or.
I'm not looking for an argument just saying.
