I think peterbilts losing it...the cabs are starting to look more and more like kenworths. The only thing that makes it different is the hood and interior. If I'm right, isn't it cheaper to fix a two piece windshield since if there's a crack in one side, you dont have to replace the whole thing? Fuc*in Paccar owns them all.... I bet if they wouldn't have went in with them Dou*hebag's Peterbilt would be just as good in the now as the 70's. No hablo english?

So, Paccar thinks Peterbilt PPL want some Kenworth POS Look alike With a Peterbilt Emblem Slapped on the Damn Hood.... Look in the Fuckin 70's back when the 1 piece was in style.... 1975 Peterbilt 359 EXHD's. One of Peterbilts Best.... then 80's 379's. Now we get all these Plastic Pieces of Shit... I swear, Freightliner Cascadia, Kenworth T700, Peterbilt 581's Are All the God Damn Same.. Someone needs to Tell the Gov. & there EPA Standards to Fuck Off Then, Build a Fuckin Peterbilt that is worth shit now & Days... Kenworth In my Book Can Fuck Off.... (my opinion...ENTITLED) Got to go back to the past with shit.... If Paccar never bought Peterbilt or Kenworth, They would look entirely different..... Look at the 1970's Peterbilt 359's & then look at the 1970's W900's... ENTIRELY FUCKIN DIFFERENT... IN my book, We need newer Rigs but, Not All the Fuckin Same truck.

The 70's were a different time. If they never bought there would be no peterbilt or kenworth. You really don't know what your talking about. Your focused on bringing back older models which isn't going to happen anytime soon. The same truck sells go pitch this idea to them. They'll shoo you out becuase you don't know sqaut about what your talking about. Fuel back then was 50 cents look now close to 4 dollars.. How can I run a extended hood 359 with a 3408 i'll go broke. Go back and do some research and get facts sure they all look allike but there making money.

Just another stubborn American who refuses to accept the way things go and doesn't want to move on, leave him be... no point arguing. People who have common sense will realize there really realistically is no benefit whatsoever of the old style and know the only reason for some not liking it is because it's not the same as it already is. I'm sure brock doesn't own/run a truck himself and therefore wouldn't fully understand the importance of it all.

People who have common sense will realize there really realistically is no benefit whatsoever of the old style Depends which onld style, I'd bet you 10 euro's that those 1950's smooth cars and cabs are just as aerodynamic as now, purely because it was hot to recreate jetplane style back then. Meh. Americans, Canadians, Mexicans... that side of the world generally, but I find it's mostly Americans ;D Nonsense. I'ts nothing to do with Americans, It's to do with the kind of people, most trucknuts I know here want classic trucks instead of new ones.

I do agree with Brock to a certain extent, because we have a 80 L7000 with a 3208 and it gets damn good gas mileage, but times are changing and so is the way everything looks and works. It's a fact of life. Shit changes, and you just have to adapt, if you want an older truck then go buy you an older truck. Just because Joe Blow has a 2010 KW T700 doesn't mean you have to. There are plenty of variables you have to take in account of this change. You have to look at it from a trucking company's perspective... A newer more advanced truck gets more drivers witch in returns makes more money, these newer trucks are more aerodynamic so it saves on fuel and a lot of it depends on if the company can get a fleet discount on these trucks witch in return saves the company money. The moral of the story= times change get used to it.

Just face it man, you're an old school trucker. They didn't make shit better back then at all, I remember driving in those old trucks and they're nothing like they are today. I'm not saying they're bad/ugly or anything, but trucks have come a long way. Especially in the last 5 years. It will be shitty if we get all these uglified trucks on the road, but trucking will still be the same no matter how ugly they make them. In all honesty, I don't miss how uncomfortable and loud those old trucks used to be, and how they would pour black smoke out the pipes. Truckers have to adapt to the economy, they don't get paid what they used to and everything just gets more and more expensive as the years go by. So fuel consumption should matter, so should the environment, global warming or not ( I believe it's a scam, tbh...). So, I guess what I'm saying is you're an old school trucker. There's tons of other people like you out there who don't like any of this new shit. Just think of how the youngs guys like me are gonna feel in 20 years with all the newfangled crap that's gonna be changed by then. Who knows, maybe trucking will be obsolete by then in it's entirety.

Not to resurrect an ages old thread, but have any of you seen one of these yet on the road? I did. Too bad the guy was coming the opposite direction, I didn't have time to even reach over and grab a phone for the pic as he was gone in seconds. First time I ever seen one. I think they look kinda cool in a really nasty ugly way.

I know our 4400's have a single windshield, and I love it. Less stuff to block your vision. Just think, peterbilt could just stop making square hoods altogether. Look at International. They only have the 9900 series left.

This idea never caught on like it did with KW. I'm not complaining though.

Just think, to save money, peterbilt and kenworth make one brand. The peterworth. They took the great success of each model, the W900, and the 379, and came up with the Peterworth 521. Just a few numbers short of a 579.....

HAHAHA! Peterworth. It might happen some day...just probably under the name Paccar and keep the models of the popular brands. Paccar 587, Paccar T680.

We should go back to leaded fuel to. My car ran way better then. The people bitching about acid rain are just a bunch of whiners.

I can see Paccar combining the two companies and using Pete/Kenny as different trim/interior packages.

They wont do that, that would cost them money. Simply because there are Kenworth fanboys and Peterbilt fanboys, and both brands need different parts in a lot of areas. That way they can make double the amount of money.

Look at the 1970's Peterbilt 359's & then look at the 1970's W900's... ENTIRELY FUCKIN DIFFERENT... I get what you're saying, but honestly a 2013 389 and a 2013 W9 look entirely different. I don't think the windshield is really a bad idea....I like the split windsheilds better, but I don't think they're bad. However I can't stand the 567 I think? Anyways....I'll have to see one of them in person to tell you one way or another. They will make trim chrome just like they do now that brings the split back again, it's too popular I'd think. For O/O's, they can probably find some trim out there to make it look like that.

That's it, I'm moving to Australia... Here I come Quentin! HAHAHA. I would come, if it wouldn't cost a ball to live down under. And having a kangaroo as a neighbor? nawh XD But i kinda like what they have done so far. I think Fuel Economy is the new standard. We have to face it, Fuel is becoming rare. Price gets higher, and freight rates stays the fucking same. We have to find a way to increase our margin of profit somewhere. Biggest spending column on a rig is the fuel. Save on that and more money goes into your pocket. But Have i mentionned how much UREA costed? A freaking lot! Still, you can average a couple full tanks with one fill of UREA. i'd say it does impact the fuel price.... positivly. If you pay your diesel 1,27$/L (like we do here) you will be less angered of paying that same amount if the cost per Kilometer gets lower. This means you will do more milage with a tank. I just think its simple maths. And don't start Arguing on the effect of the green thingy on torque and power. It changes absolutly nothing. Overall, new trucks looks great. I will miss the long hood models, but still, i'd prefer to have a aerotruck and still make a living out of trucking.
