Yep, the only thing that makes a truck a "Haulin" mod is the nodes and scene setup, other than that it is just another 3d model.

Yeah but it'll look like shit in ATS unless you do some more cosmetic stuff to it.
In all seriousness though, the models for haulin are just simpler, but they can be converted. There's just a lot more that goes into making it in to an ATS model. Different materials, variants, they brought back the old PTTM system of interchangeable parts and giving each truck its own interior, and they added a mesh that tells the game what to cast as a shadow. Then there's light masks, stuff that will probably take quite a bit of work to fully utlilize.
I still have yet to dive into making any truck mod for ATS. I'm still trying to finish up my work for haulin first, so take my word for what it's worth.
What I said about the cosmetic stuff just means the way haulin models are set up works fine in that game, but they aren't set up to take advantage of the new features that ATS has with multiple UV mappings, better textures, baked shadows and normal maps. A lot of people don't seem to mind though, so don't let that stop you if you really want to convert a truck.

You can, but I wouldn't bother for the most part when we're gonna be getting decent made trucks from scs. Older style trucks sure, but not the 389's and w900l's and stuff, those are just pointless converting over.

Yea that's why all I've messed with for ATS from haulin is 379s. I am tossing around the idea of making the ATS w900 into a flatglass, though.

thanks for the input guys i really respect all your guys opinions and your work. Ive modded some trucks to my taste for haulin, but was worried about the quality if converted. Im at the point of getting my mac up to spec so i can run ATS so hopefully everything works ok. Anybody else run on a MAC?

I doubt it, mac isn't really designed for games, they're work stations made for audo/video/picture editing/rendering etc. Not gaming machines, now a lot of PCs aren't either, but they're designed to be a lot more customizable, and macs are pretty much all in one get what you get buy a new one to upgrade computers. Great for what I listed above and for people who want a stable no hassle system, but if you want to game or do anything else really and/or be able to customize the interface and parts, you need a pc. Plus you can build a pc or buy a pc that's exactly what you want/need for what you're wanting to do.
