If you want to play on the road, do a micro ATX build. The cases are super small (I'd like to say roughly the size of an Xbox 360 slim) so they don't take up a ton of space in the sleeper. Assuming your dad has a TV with an HDMI input, you wouldn't need a monitor. I remember seeing pics of a build some guy put together on the Truckers Report forum but I can't find it right now. This guy took out the top bunk in his sleeper and mounted like a 37" LCD on the back wall and had the PC and a PS4 rigged up to it. You'd also need a beefy inverter and lots and lots of battery (unless you're playing while he's idling or driving). Not sure what else you would have to consider. I'd probably do an SSD instead of an HDD because the constant bumpy roads would fuck up the disk pretty bad. It's a pretty cool idea and way better than an Alienware IMO. Here's a pic of a micro ATX case.

Your CPU is kinda weak, but you could probably get a somewhat decent GPU. I don't know how well it would run haulin

I'm pretty pumped for Windows 10, I should get a free copy as I have a copy of Windows 8 (for free since my school has DreamSpark, awesome program btw).
Windows 8 was a massive clusterfuck but I'm hearing good things about 10, hopefully it's back to basics after that Metro UI shit.

Use this thread for asking questions if you need help. If you need help building a PC or something just make a new thread. Use your common sense.

So I have windows 8.1 and use windows defender, and I keep getting these apps that will download and install without me knowing it, so I had windows defender run a full computer scan yesterday and it found malware and cleaned up. I thought that had fixed the problem with the random apps downloading and uninstalled the ones that had installed, but today after church I turned my computer on, and they have came back, any ideas on how to fix it?

well these are the ones that came back, and thanks for those links. Sorry about that, forgot to get back to you on this. Ok, so what I would do if traditional methods didn't remove them (add/remove programs then registry cleaner) is google each one of those programs and add 'removal' at the end of your search. So for example, "zombie news removal" That will be alot easier than me typing it all out here, I already did that for a few of them and the instructions were the same as what I would do. It may take a while to get that done but it's necessary, some programs like these can spy on you and steal information like bank or email passwords. You may also want to download ccleaner to clean your registry, after you remove any of these. If you have any issues with uninstalling them like you can't find a solution on google, just let me know and send me a message so I don't forget to help you again. Just whatever you do, don't download any other programs to remove them unless they're the ones I've mentioned from their official site or download pages. Alot of sites will try and trick you and get you to download programs that look like they're safe.

Is there really much of a difference between windows 7 and 8 for a gaming pc? or is it just bogus and might as well go with 7 64 bit that i'm use to on 2 pc's. Would ultimate be anymore useful then home eddition? And is farm sim 2015 and spin tires really for the money 60$ for both?
My pc spec:
MSI z87 GD65 Gaming, picked up for 120$ MSI GTX 770OC G Skills Sniper 2133 DDR3 Ram 2x4 for 8gb 40$ HX850i power supply Have a 1tb harddrive but going to get a SSD for OS and certain games Asus VG248QE Monitor
Still have to get my cpu, looking at a I7-4770k and h100i cpu cooler. Perhaps another 970 in the future for SLI

Ok, well there may be some things you can do, but it won't do much. About all you can do is swap hard drives, maybe cpus, and add/replace ram with more. Past that, you'll probably have to buy, build, or have built another pc with better specs. What you have is an internet computer, it's not meant to play games, it's meant to browse the internet and do simple computer things.

Perhaps another 970 in the future for SLI First off, you will not get very much performance from 7 to 8 period. Plus with either one you can upgrade to windows 10 for free. I'd try to pick a i7-4790k because the 4770k is one hot bastard. The h100i is fine, but mine was loud so I switched to a Noctua and I'm getting the same temps if not a little better for 1/3 the noise. Any samsung ssd is amazing just get a 250gb or higher because my 120gb isn't really enough. Also for the games I'd wait till the steam summer sale because they'll probably be on sale at some point during that.
