hey aaron i was wondering if the nat you have ever stalled after idling for 15 minutes cause the truck(its in the post pic of urself thread) stalls and then 1 f the instructors says u have tp use fast idle to keep it running You mean fast idle..It all depends if the detriot engine is set to fast idle or slow idle...That's it. They don't stall if there set to fast idle the rpm's are just erratic..

That sounds more like auto engine cutoff after idling for a while lol, we have it over here on some vehicles. Designed to save fuel. Although my guess is that it's not intentional in your case

Yeah we have that here also, a few of the trucks my brother drove would shut off after 15 minutes of idle, unless you hit the brakes or throttle.

Ours tend to do it after like... 5 lol
Or there's also start-stop where the engine switches off immediately when you stop and switches back on when you press the throttle. I'd find that annoying though, idle cut-off seems a much better idea

Here in Australia we have both American and European engines. We work them harder than 90% of Americans or Europeans. They both do the same job, approx. same economy and same reliability. With equal emissions. Driving 1000km per day with 75 tonnes in tow is a pretty good way to compare the two, and they're as good as each other. Pretty sure your dad cares a shit load about fuel, since he has to pay for it and not the company. Oh, and the only reason I leave my truck idling ever is due to the refrigerator motor. It's compressor is the A/C compressor. So motor off equals no coldness. Dumb idea, but at least the three new trucks on order have their own diesel refrigeration unit independent of the engine. Video anyone? If he cared, then why would he have everything tuned up in the engine for best performance? And why would he have a visor and a bumper? Those cut down on fuel mileage... And that sounds like a Maxxforce DT startup ;D (Bus's got em) The reason he has everything tuned up for performance is because he's the kind of person that wants Power on the hills, and blow by everyone on the hills, and is very impressed with the Cat right now. Purrrr...

Lol when I was driving to get my car a couple months ago a truck driver crashed into a car that was in the breakdown lane and turned that car and another one into scrap metal, on a completely straight highway. Then the thing caught on fire and burned the truck and one of the cars up completely. They had to cover the road in sand to put out the burning fuel. I was backed up in traffic for almost 2 hours.

Thing is, there were no skidmarks, no scrapes and the car didn't look damaged apart from being on it's side. It's almost like someone parked it there and then four dudes came and lifted it onto it's side. Which is more likely than you might think. ;D My truck peed itself quite badly today. Several times actually, but I only took the one photo.

Hah that is weird. I didn't even notice there weren't any skid marks on the road.
