If I'm not in this, I'm in the shaker. Has a C13 acert with a 13 speed, personal favorite since it does have some pull. Engine brake is whatever on this thing. If I'm not in the shaker, I'm in the Pete. Has a DD15 with a Smartshift 10 speed, it's nice for the inner city. Has a strong engine brake too. My only complaint, it's too touchy. By that I mean when you try backing up or taking off under load, the truck will start jumping. Damn automatics Local work is what I do for now, all across Southern California.

Well the car hauling job was becoming way too miserable, so I'm pulling containers now. Of course I got an Iveco as a beginner, but thankfully this one it's not losing any pieces. Trying a fancy shot with a new fancy Canon camera on a boring night.

How's that Mdrive, any good or is a manual still the way to go. Last time I drove a automatic was a Volvo FH 500 with I-shift, which is the same as in the Mack I believe. Not really my cup of tea, it's at times dim witted and slow. But that was an '08 truck, where 10 years further down the line, so any good?
Great looking combo by the way! Safe trucking.

It defaults to start in 3rd with a trailer/trailers on. Asides from bumping that down when up on the weights, I almost never have to touch it The Kenworth/Cummins Ultrashifts we have (18 speed) I’m always in manual mode The Mack tends to keep the revs down too, it’ll change up at 1300rpm and happily chug along at 900rpm too, whereas the Ultrashifts don’t do anything below 1600rpm

A bit of a shame this place is almost dead, but I'll dump here some pictures of my short IRL trucking career. The way too many hours spent in Haulin' and ETS made me want to try the real thing. My first truck at my first trucking job, an Iveco Eurotech 400HP car transporter. With almost 1.500.000km it was one of the oldest trucks of the company still running. The thing was RAW. After a couple of months the poor Eurotech started having several transmission issues but it was so old it wasn't worth fixing anymore, so my boss decided just to keep it running until it dies. And so it did, one morning at 7am the transmission blew on a mountain in a 2 lane tunnel. Spent the rest of the day in an empty parking at the top of the mountain waiting for a new truck. My new home for the week. I got an Iveco Stralis 450HP, it was far from new but far more comfortable compared to the Eurotech.
A crapload of used rental Smarts. Most of them had the battery dead, it was really fun to load them.
Do you even overhang bro?
Getting in the center of Milan with a 21 meters long (69ft) truck... Did this way too many times.
More vans.
I got an interesting offer with shipping containers and decided to give it a try. The pay was lower but the job was way easier. Once again with an Iveco Stralis... These things here are everywhere because they're the cheapest to maintain, but man oh man do they lack reliability. This was a "normal medium" cab. Coming from a small car transporter this thing felt huge to me.
Just a beginner with a semi in a really small place. No I didn't get stuck, yes I almost snapped my air cables.
Genova port.
An intermodal curtain trailer loaded on a flatbed? What kind of sorcery is this?
Of course many times I wasn't able to stop at a truckstop, but cooking inside the cab was never an option to me.
In the winter of 2017 the awesome Stralis one night decided to fry the main ECU leaving me with the truck completely dead, with no heat at -4°C. My working contract was expiring and I got an offer to work as a mechanic restoring pre-war cars. Even if I had some really bad experiences I miss a lot driving all day long, but right now I'm living the dream rebuilding old engines and re-designing mechanical parts.
