Lag as in it feels like the game itself slows down, without a drop in FPS? Than yes, It's happening to me too. Seems like using warp to slow it down/speed it up. Doesn't matter where I am either.

Yes this, just happens at 10 min intervals, it pauses as if it feels it’s going to crash, the FPS stays fine. It’s a 2-4 second pause, incredibly annoying. the console in game shows a ton of yellow errors, I’ve not payed attention to what it is tho.

In my case, it seemed to help by changing the game speed from 1 to 0.8.

I'm curious as to what is messing up the warp on the fly like that.

In my case, it seemed to help by changing the game speed from 1 to 0.8. I wonder if this is my issue aswell.. i'm not sure what my FPS is but since the 1.39 update my game lags bad and it gets worse when i enter cities regardless if i'm on single player or multiplayer! my game will legit freeze for a good 30-50 seconds and then go away then start getting choppy and i'll move a bit freeze move freeze then it will clear up for a bit and this never use to happen and all my settings have been set to High or Ultra if possible since 1.36 and yesterday i dropped all my Ultra settings to High and that seem to help a tiny bit but its still being a pain in the ass! does it to when i'm in the in game menu going through garage manager, truck dealer, trailer manager, truck manager you name it or if i'm building a truck it does it and its getting absolutely annoying and taking the enjoyment outta my game. this game speed you speak of, how do you change that? didn't know that was a thing. Do you just change it in the dev console? whats the command?

I know this isn’t ats related but fs19s new alpine dlc it’s the same, u go into the town and you lose performance, it’s like the developers forget how to optimise shizz. the nvidia inspector guide helped , but the fix for me was using the warp..

Yeah the cities are real bad but its not much better outside city limits or the real forested areas. I haven't even touched Farm Simulator 19 much at all since i got back into this stuff but i noticed their stuff is pretty laggy which is wack for console lol.

Do you just change it in the dev console? whats the command? Type warp 0.8 in the console. It slows it down just a bit, since it usually runs on warp 1. Only problem with it though is if you use trucksbook, you get a rules violation for using warp, even though it’s of no benefit to doing anything quicker.

The only thing that makes sense with that outcome is that the other drive you installed them on has a faster read/write speed. What wouldn't make sense is if you were running ATS on an SSD prior to that and still experiencing the issue. If I remember correctly I was having dropped frames similar to what you were discribing back when the Oregon DLC came out and I was still running everything on a Seagate Barracuda HDD. I bought an SSD and installed ATS on that not too long after, and it appeared to eliminate that problem.
Edit: I dug through your posts and found one from almost 2 years ago, with the specs you had then. I imagine you're still running the same drives now as you were then, but your 2TB is an HDD. WTF kind of sorcery is this that your game is running smoother on that than an M.2 SSD?
Whatever, if it's fixed, it's fixed. If i can safely assume your OS isn't running on the 2TB drive, maybe ATS is running better because the disk usage isn't as high?

Ya it’s fixed, idk it’s strange, I used to run ats on my C drive which has 300gb of space I believe, but I have only have 20gb of free space left. But I decided to try the 2TB D drive, and my lag spike disappeared. I run a intel i9 , rtx 2080. And my OS is in the C drive... Don’t wanna sound like a moron here but what’s the difference between a SSD and a HDD??? I don’t know much about PCS tbh, I just went to the store and spent a ton lol This has also happened to fs19, but it’s done this ever since I defragged the C drive and apparently you shouldn’t do that....

Hmm..you didn't strike me as the type to not know the ins and outs of his own system.
A Hard Disk Drive (HDD) reads and writes files by accessing sectors on spinning disks, which is old technology that's been around forever. Solid State Drives (SSD) get rid of all the moving parts and store data in semiconductor cells, which makes them so much faster.
I assume since you didn't really change anything since the last time you posted your build that you're still running the M.2 SSD as your primary drive (C) which is even faster than the ones that connect with SATA (like what I'm using because my motherboard is outdated af). Someone else can probably explain it better than I can, but yeah. That's the obvious difference.
And noooo, you do not defrag an SSD. It shortens their lifespan, and they handle files so much more efficiently that they don't need it anyway.
Now that you mention your drive is pretty much full, maybe that's why it was spiking. I never really had that problem yet with my SSD, so I don't know if they behave the same way as HDDs when they're full. Beyond that, there's absolutely no reason why you should've been getting lag spikes running on a setup like yours. Brief pausing and lag spikes in these games are caused by items loading in and spawning constantly as you move, which drives disk usage up. I don't have very good FPS because my GPU is bottlenecking the hell out of my system, but it's still consistent. No pausing at all. Thats with a 4.2ghz clock speed on an old 3rd generation i7 and half of my 16GB RAM after the other half failed a few weeks ago.

Random short blurb. My drive wasn't close to being full, and I was still getting this. However, since the last few updates, it has been fixed. Also, the latest trucksbook client wont give you grief for anything under warp 1.

Wow, I see a lot of people are experiencing this.
I have been noticing it since v1.38, but just with this v1.39 it has been too much to the point that I have already identified in which part of the map it happens and the amount of time the stuttering lasts.
I posted this on the scs forum but nobody cared about it, I guess because I'm new or because I don't comment much on the forums, this is what I posted there:
Wow, I see I'm not the only one with that annoying problem.
I do not deny that my pc is somewhat low-end considering what has been released in 2020, I have I5 8400, 16 GB RAM and GTX 1660, 1TB SSD to install my game (ATS and ETS) and the same thing happens to me since 1.38.
Even with the launch parameters, it keeps happening. I thought it was the performance of my PC, but even on Assetto Corsa with Sol 2.0, high GTA V settings, or COD MW with high settings, I don't have this kind of stuttering problem. Above 60 fps without problems, even ATS and ETS2 work for me at an average of 68 fps when I have everything in ultra and x400% draft.
I don't think it is a performance issue, I have read that guys with 2070super or 2080ti have the same issue.
I myself tested the graphics to a minimum, without modifications, in a new profile and it happens.
What I've noticed is that it happens in certain places on the map, for example, on Highway 70 in Colorado, from Denver to Grand Junction.
Another thing I noticed is that it doesn't happen if I drive in the opposite direction, for example in the case of Highway 70, if I take a trip from Grand Junction to Denver, it doesn't give me those kinds of problems. The same is true for other stuttering points, such as Highway 5 from Longview to Olympia in Oregon, or Highway 84 from Utah to Oregon, specifically at the first intercept before reaching Boise.
As always, I've tried these and other sites with low and high graphics settings, with and without mods turned on and I can get past 90fps and the stuttering is noticeable.
It is my experience with this case.
For me that is too stressful, I have to test the mods that I do for hours to see their performance and because of that small detail with the game I have not been able to do my job well.
I've been able to notice that this may be related to loading textures, as if the prism3d engine was having a hard time loading texture in time in certain places and creating the stuttering spikes that we are having.
Even checking the performance of the graphics, when it happens, it is not a real drop in FPS, it is simply as if the game was in the background due to the stop of the base engine then it started running.
I still have faith that this can be fixed, since, in my case, having a dedicated SSD for games and even testing without mods and minimal graphics I see that the problem is reflected.
