I ended up in this forum thanks to 359ers string about his 1984 Pete 359 project via a google search and had to say how impressed I was with how it turned out. It really stoked the fire with my project as I’m doing the exact same thing ... bought an old unit that was left for dead in a field, towed her home and am slowly working on bringing her back from the dead in my driveway. I’ve never done a project like this before and at times it seems overwhelming and is costing WAY more than I expected but when that old 3406a roared to life a few months back I know I made the right choice. My wife and friends think I’m nuts but i know a bunch of folks on here will appreciate it. So here’s the 1st of many videos on YouTube when I found it after putting a wanted ad in a local paper

Warm air intakes and double squares ooh baby, sleeper looks fucked but you can get a good one for about $500, you'll have to do body work and paint it. www.dansshopinc.com has a lot of replacement parts that you can't get from peterbilt. Also, look up Henry Valasquez on facebook, he's out of california, him and his brothers have tons of parts that they restore and list on ebay facebook and if you contact them they usually have a price to buy to forgoe the ebay bidding. 359 marketplace is a good facebook page to join also. Edit: Oh also, Tremec owns the rights to at least the auxiliary transmission, so if you need it rebuilt they should have a kit for you, or there's a place in dallas that will rebuild them I know of, if you want I can find out more there, only if you need them rebuilt that is. Original spicer parts are hard to find so I hope for your sake they're in good shape. If you need to rebuild that cat, go with an IPD inframe kit and get the rest from cat that they don't send. IPD is very cheap and really good stuff, better than cat. I just rebuilt my C15 with their kit. Edit edit: Watching some more of your videos, I noticed the sleeper has the peterbilt logo stamped into it, don't scrap that sleeper, someone will pay big money for it with that stamp in the roof cap, those are very very rare.
