So I went out and bout myself a paint gun and a quart of paint and a qrt of clear and all the things I need to paint it. So i decided since this is my first time using or ever using a paint gun. Figured id give it a shot. So its two coats of paint and 1 coat of clear. I'd say I didn't do to bad. Probably would of looked better with one or two more coats of clear. But I was mainly just trying to get used to the gun. I used my old hood as a demo. If you guys have ever used a paint gun and have any tips for me, let let me know. I'm doing this all on my own. YouTube videos has helped me out alot. Also, the blue won't be the color of the truck haha

So I put two more coats of clear on today. Now I did have a run towards the back of the hood. So next time I know I need to go alittle quicker then I was. But that's why it's just a practice hood haha. But overall. I'm happy with how it turn out. The extra coats of clear really made the blue stand out.

How much did all that stuff cost you? I want to paint my next car in the near future once I get it but I'm wanting to do it at home, dont have 3k to spend at a paint shop lol When it comes to the gun and stuff. I bought all my at harborfreight. Read alittle about the gun before I bought it and I'm really surplrised. I knew it wasn't going to be the best. But for $15, it's a great gun to learn on. All together, I believe everything around $40. That was for the HVLP 20oz gun ($15), strainers($5), moisture filter($2), cleaning kit ($5) and the respirator ($13). The paint I only bought quart for $20. Then you gotta buy thinner, clear, hardner, and etc. Here's a pic of the gun and the moisture filter that i bought. Youll have to buy the female end for the filter unless you have one. I already had one. I didnt worry about a regulator for the gun cause i have one on my air compressor. Overall, it's a pretty good gun. If I would of took more time and sanded between coats, I'm sure the turnout would of been better. But I'm still shocked with it. In a good way that it. Later down the road when I get better at using this gun, I'll probably buy a better one. But for now, this one works pretty good. But like I said, I'm learning this all on my own, YouTube helps alot. So if anyone has any advise, please let me know. Or I can try to help ya out.
