Hello folks.
So for the past few months, I've been thinking of making a map for FS. I've started and stopped various projects, but never found one that I could really stick to. I think I may have found an idea now: the state of Wisconsin.
Just from browsing online pictures of the state online and looking at Google Maps, I fell in love with the rich foliage and rolling hills that the state's agricultural region has to offer. But in order to truly bring Wisconsin to FS, I'm going to need some help from you native residents.
FS maps can only be made in a few sizes, most of which are squares. The size I'm aiming for is a so called 4x map which is 4096 meters square.
Therefore, my question to you guys is: if you were given a 3d plane approximately 4 km on each side, how would you lay it out to best represent the Wisconsin countryside?
Where would you put your hills, towns, railroads, rivers, and so on?
I need some advice, so I'm putting this question out for you all.
Thanks!

Well where Im from 20 miles north of the Dells. Its pretty flat but there's 3 bluffs that surround us so there's slight hills but not rolling hills. But if you go towards Reedsburg its pretty up and down. And you get guys strip farming the hills. Then going out towards Adams county its flat and sandy. You get guys with irrigation rigs for their potatoes and corn.

I'm open to any ideas: mainly what I'm looking for is rolling hills. And pictures, even from Google, will be great!

Don't to oklahoma, at least the eastern 1/3 of the state, if you don't want thousands of acres of cattle grazing land. lol The western side has lots of farming, though!

I may do a Wisconsin map in the future, but I think I'm just going to stick with flatland for now. I've kind of changed my mind, but flatland is easier to do in Giants Editor, and if done right, it can really look good. I'll have some updates once I get started.

I don't like everything about 15, but the things I do like make high-quality modding for this game a bit easier than before.

I live in Wisconsin but I don't play Farming Stimulator so I don't really know what you'd be looking for. The main thing with Wisconsin is that most areas where there's farming it's flat, much like Iowa and Illinois. Rolling hills in the backgrounds and forests with mixed trees would make it more realistic. Also dairy barns and silos.
