is it a custom color or factory for another vehicle?
Its duplicolor deep blue metallic paint you can buy from advanced or autozone. Can only buy it in quarts though. Its 25.99 a quart. I used three and a half quarts to do my truck. Its nice cause you dont have to put hardner or thinner in it. Its premixed so you just dump it in your gun and spray. Just gotta make sure you stir it up really good being metallic paint. This is only base coat. I read alot of reviews on the duplicolor clear coat and read its not that good. I used clear coat from a local paint store from my area to clear it. Had to mix the clear and get all the ratios right on that though.
fuck it took 5 quarts to do my car FFS lucky with a small truck lol
Yea i bet. I thought i was going to use more then i did.
Got myself some better headlight bezels. My other ones were all pitted. These are in pretty nice shape other then the small dent on the one. Not too noticable though. And yes, their metal. Im not buying those cheap plastic ones lol
Got the idea from another person on a ranger forum i look at. He used f100 where i used f350 emblems. Their 1967-69 ford f350 emblems. I like how they only say Ford 350 since my truck has a chevy 350 motor in it. It will have a marker light that lights up also. My buddy welded up the passenger fender. I did the driver side. First time using a mig, so it was interesting haha
holy fuck no time wasted puttin those in, i would have cried doing that to the paint lol
Haha, i actually had to fix the paint on both fenders anyways. One had a nice scratch and the other had a mark where i sanded the blue and thought the clear would cover it. Found out you cant sand metallic paint and then clear it like you can with regular paint haha.
thats where im lucky if i gotta touch up all i do is get a can on semi-gloss and itll match my paint perfect lol
Haha nothing wrong with that.
Here it is with filler and primed. Still need to smooth it out more yet. But its turning out awsome. Also put the orange reflective lenses back in the emblems for now till I make my own clear lenses. Sorta looks funny without the grill on it lol
killer, i know its kinda late now but did you try bringing it below that body line to see how that looked?
Yea, i put it above and below the body line, niether looked as good as right on the body line. Once i get the fender sanded and smoothed out more and painted blue again, its going to look 500 times better. And once the truck is finally back together also haha
Got the fenders painted. And shortened my steering wheel up. It wasnt comfortable to drive being as deep dished as it was. Wanted it to be more flat to have a feeling like the stock steering wheel so it wasnt so close to me. The first pic of the steering wheel is stock. The second is after i cut and welded it back together. Then I painted it silver. Im pretty happy with how it turned out. Planning on putting the truck back together friday. That way itll give time for the paint to cure. Also, Dont mind the messy garage in the background lol
So i need some opinions. Thinking about doing a paint scheme like older pickups. I will use chrome trim to break up the while and blue like the trim on my fenders. I think it will make the truck look older then what it is, but in a good way. Let me know what ya think. Thanks

Decided not to do the white roof. I could not get the chrome trim to look right so i decided not to do it. But.... i an doing a custom dash for it. At a local junkyard, i got an 1968 Interenational pickup dash for $50. It sits about an 1.5-2" higher, but its turning out really well. I had to watch how low i cut it becuase of the stock metal dash brace for the orginal dash. I had to take 3" or so out of the middle of the dash to shorten it. Then welded it back up. Then welded it to the orginal top piece on the ranger dash so i can still use my defrost if need be. But heres some pics of the progress. Still got alot of welding, cutting and filling spots left to do. The stuff on top of the nat dash is glue and padding. It will get all sanded off. Itll probably get painted the blue to match the truck. I was getting tired of the vynil dash pads always cracking from the heat and wear. Plus its fun to do something that isnt out there lol.. also, i take the dash out to weld, then put it back in to test fit.
Got more welding done. Filled the holes in the dash and did the side pieces. Did a pile of grinding on it to smooth everything out some. Sanding half of the top dash. Slowly gwtting ready for bondo and paint.

FulGor3: Going in was like,"Alright, I am older now, I am more mature and have more patience, I can do it." After opening Blender reality kicked in that I smoked too much pot over the years. It is going to take me a lot longer than I expected.

FulGor3: I decided to pick up modeling again, and my goal is to get as far as making my own trucks rather than just parts.
