This was brought up in another thread the other day. If I remember right he said he did it mainly because he enjoys working on stuff and making stuff.

I'm definitely not knockin it, it's a cool truck and you did some tremendous work on it... but I just have to know one thing... why didn't you just buy a chev? That would have been way to easy! hahaha I knew I was going to get asked that once I did this project. I was looking at the older 70s ford grills to see if I could make it work on this truck and I couldn't because everything is at an angle like this \ in the front of the truck. So I was trying to find something that also had round headlights and I forgot about the chevy till I saw it sitting at the junkyard. Man I could go crazy at a junkyard with all the old vehicles there. I could probably just build one there in a few hours with acouple buddys haha I was looking for an international scout grill but they only had one scout down there. And the whole front end is one piece on that one so I couldn't do that either. But I did take the headlights off it hahaha. But I never would have thought in a million years that a 70s chevy grill would fit on front of a ford pretty good haha. I enjoy just getting in the garage an building something. And once you see the outcome of what you built, its like wow, Did I really just build that? haha It was sorta like when I was in modding trucks for haulin and pttm days, its fun just to create something and say that you did it. Except zmod was a lot easier hahaha

This thing is bad ass. I would honestly love to have a project like this. You should get a logo in the back of it that says Mick-bilt or something. Haha

Yeah that makes sense mick. The only reason why I asked is because I seen a older box style s10 once with round headlights and it got me thinking... It would look pretty good as a stepside.
But yeah, the round headlights turned out better than i thought. I thought it would look pretty mickey mouse but turns out it's quite the opposite and looks quite good.

The older square body s-10s look pretty bad ass with round headlights. But thanks for the comment. And thanks dm for the comment also. It's crazy to think of what the truck first looked like when I first bought it till now.. Haha

Damn I wish I had a shop to tear my 359 down in. Probably going to do the rear ends in the driveway. I really need to start working on my Sonoma again. 97 single cab. You can see it in some of the 359 pics. My brother threw a rod through the 4.3 so we figure there's no better way to fix that than put a 383 in its place.

Just a mock up of the hood on the truck. Probably only going to do 2.5 to 3" tall cowl rather then the 4". Starting to mold the hood alittle. Getting it all ready before we weld it. My buddy I work with is giving me a hand with this project. So it should turn out pretty sweet. Got some new wheels for this truck also. Only paid $150 for all 4. They are $81 for one rim on summit racing. So i think I got a pretty good deal on them. If you look in the first pic, I did get the front rims on it. Havent done the back yet because my tire machine that I have doesnt do tires as big as my rear tires so I have to take them to a garage to change.

Decided to buy some polish and polish up the grill alittle. First polished piece of the grill. Then the whole grill. And what it looks like now on the truck. I am going to go back over it one more time to hopefully get it to polish just alittle more.

So I haven't been on here in quite awhile. Getting a cowl scoop to do the Chevy hood and I finished the grill and made a wood bed for it today.
