Sorry if this is already general knowledge (still trying to catch up in the community). You guys should check out Trucker Josh. He's a OTR truck driver who does daily Vlogs about his travels throughout Canada and US. By far the best trucker vlog on the web (the only one i'll watch). Check it.. www.youtube.com/channel/UCrkahiSmFd6w0fmdZ95K_wA

Yeah, I just discovered his vids a few months ago. Solid guy, I've talked to him on facebook a few times. Like him, I always went trucking with dad when I was younger and it's something I wanted to pursue when I became an adult (difference is, he actually pursued it.) It's good to see Truckers out there that still take pride in what they do.

A guy I know worked at the same company he used to. Never watch his vids though. There's never really guys putting up vids for the trucking, it's always about the driver. IDC about the drivers, I just wanna see different places.

I also was one of Trucker Josh's first followers, and I used to "know" him quite well. When he first started, I really encouraged him to make more videos and so on, and I can see he took that to heart, perhaps too well. Right now, I'm still subscribed to his channel, but I almost never get past the 2 minute mark on his videos any more. His stuff has become really monotonous, and I can hardly stand it any more. Plus, he doesn't have time to respond to comments any more, so the conversational part of his channel is lost as well. I agree wholeheartedly with Chris about this trucking video thing. I don't know how many of you are subscribed to Texomatic pictures, the guy who runs the YTT trucking FB page and formerly website. He did a video a little bit back about how trucking videos have changed over the years, and his point is exactly the truth. In the days of guys like Eskimo Sean, Trucker Steve, and others, they only posted a few videos here and there, and the videos they posted were unique, thoughtful, and captivating. Then along came the V-logers, and everything went downhill. Tex didn't say that part, but I am. I'm so tired of YouTube channels full of this and that about one person. I don't watch trucking videos because I want to hear a daily rendition of someone's life story. I want to see America from my computer desktop, so that when I'm out there on the highway some day, life is full of fewer surprises. And with advanced technology like GoPro cameras, trucking videos should be providing more quality. But most channels don't offer that any more. Big Rig Videos is a really good channel for conversation about the industry and shots of cool trucks, Sergie Drachev has really gone in a great direction with his photography, and BigRigTravels has some great long videos of drives throughout the nation, but the days of Eskimo and Steve, 1776Filmz, North60Star, and the rest of the people that were telling the world the trucker story are over. Maybe someday, people will realize that you can do more with a camera that just point it at yourself and talk for ten minutes every day. I've personally had enough of that.

For those looking to see landscapes and trucks, I would agree that Josh's videos are not the best in that regard. His videos appeal to me because it's about the lifestyle. To me trucking is about the lifestyle, not the material parts that fall within it. I think Josh does a good job sharing his lifestyle, while still talking about the industry, working on his truck/trailers and showing the viewers some landmarks through North America. It's a good mix, and I think the proof is in the numbers, he has seen a lot of response to his channel.

Look at Indiana Jack's stuff. He might not have as many subscribers, but it's really not how many subscribers you have that makes a video worth watching. Otherwise, we'd be watching people eat crayons and fall down stairs. But Indiana Jack's stuff is worth watching, and so was Eskimo and Trucker Steve's stuff when they making videos consistently. Trucker Steve has a video that has 300,000 views, and it ain't no vlog. I like this video too. One of the best I've seen.

I like this video too. One of the best I've seen. [image]well, I'll have to check these guys out, maybe ill become a fan : - ) Yeah, there are some really good trucking channels out there especially Indiana Jack. And in reference to TruckerJosh, I think the biggest problem he's had as far as quality goes is actually BigRigTalk. I'm almost sub'd to BigRigTalk, but the purpose of his channel is to teach young truckers (and pre-truckers like me) about the realities of the industry. TruckerJosh found out about Jerry, and then they met and started working together. Soon after, TruckerJosh started making his channel like Jerry's, but without what makes Big Rig Talk worth watching, when I do watch it. So you have two guys doing nearly the exact same thing, but one is a seasoned veteran of the industry and the other is a fairly young trucker. And the problem is: while Jerry's videos are informative, TruckerJosh's are just monotonous, and there are far too many to watch. Before I have time to look at one, he's already put up another one, and after a while, I just lost interest.
