So some interesting news from the blog. I'll start small. 1.14 is said to contain the DAF euro 6 which I know I'm looking forward to. They also hinted at working tag axles in the new update. It was subtle, but they had a lifted axle on the new DAF. Lastly, and probably the biggest price of news is they hired a member of the communities. His position was not listed, but 50keda has started a career with scs. I like the new direction scs is going and have high hopes for future endeavors. They need to start branching out for ideas. Their think tank can't think up everything...

I know everyone is very critical of scs and I'm guilty of it to, but compared to the games they've developed before ETS 2 we have made a far departure. They actually seem to care a little bit. It's hard for this community to grasp because they are focusing more on the euro community, but I think we're making forward strides.

It's true, but I think they're more likely to do that after the game is released to get a reaction. And yes the comments actually do more damage than good.

All negativity aside, I do think ATS will be a great game. I like to be overly critical at times but I'm definitely glad they're making it, and I can't wait to try it out and see what they come up with.

It's hard for this community to grasp because they are focusing more on the euro community, but I think we're making forward strides. Don't get why people still so upset about the way SCS went. It was obvious. The EU community grew fast and big. SCS noticed that and saw it logical as a more easy approach on the whole topic. Now they can focus on something they have around them usually every day when they go/drive to work. In the end, it would have helped them alot more, if they did it before ETS! Point is, SCS is now closer to the whole Trucking Business. They can get recordings of sounds easily now. Or do you love them sounds previously? Generic made up sounds? SCS was right in focusing on the EU for a long time to learn alot from reality. We all want so badly a realistical simulations and you can only make something realistical, if you know it. For a small company like SCS, getting in touch with the US Trucking will be a lot harder. They would still produce games like Convoy. So, I don't see any idea why you guys get so mad about the way SCS decided to go. It's the best for all of us and now, as they are in touch with EU Brands, it will be alot cheaper to get US ones. And after all, now you guys gotta deal with half assed maps and trucks and trailers. I remember when I made maps and models in Haulin, it was horrible. We had this for years until they finally switched from US to EU!

Yep you're right kev, we would have definitely had better games if they had focused more in the EU based games in the first place. Alot bigger market. That's why I'm not really expecting a huge US trucksim just yet when it comes to ATS. As long as the map is half decent, and all game files are there that ets2 has then I'll be happy. Learning blender to convert mods is gonna be a pain in the ass though.

What we need is a few people really adept in putting things ingame via blender, then we can get modding teams together like for farm sim. One guy makes the model, the other guy does textures, and another puts it ingame, another does all the tidbits, etc. That will probably be the most effective way.

Yep, and like our own ATS project we're gonna end up with a bunch of impaiient kids screwing it all up once Again..!!

That would never happen, I'm way too anal with my modeling. Everything has to be set up right to do proper textures as well, that includes poly flow. Which very few in this community know what that even is.

Yeah, that's how I'm starting to do things. I get picky with other people's work nowadays and like having the familiarity of my own modeling techniques when I go back to edit something, so I try to do everything by myself.

Ya...
I have to say I thought paid for dlc was going to be a joke, but they've really done a good job. I'm looking forward to the Scandinavia dlc. I think multiplayer has really kept this game alive for me though.

No private servers. I think I'm alone in my opinion, but I like it like that. The massive multiplayer feel totally works for that game. Yes you get morons that ruin it for others, but I blame that on their very poor administration system and lack of punishment for people that do violate the rules.

I agree Kyle the random fuck stick running you off the road for shits and giggles and all the other stupid bullshit is what pisses me off but its to be expected when your on with idiots. I quit multiplayer because of that alone. If they could come up with a way to fix that shit I would go back though.
