Ever since MW2, C.O.D has been on a downward slope...

Yeah the future for COD looks dark as well. How long are they going to drag this game engine out, the games have looked the same in terms of graphics for the last few editions of the series. Honestly up against BF3 and games like crysis, FM4, GT5, this game looks like crap. Most likely a no buy for me.

I remember when COD had the fricken quake engine. Those were the days. Now you get these silly perks and stuff to "aid" your game. When blackops came out, the modding community was promised some mod tools. Where are they? World at War is the last one that you can actually mod, but no one plays it anymore. I think these guys at IW (or whoever makes these games these days) are just doing it for cash and the console community. Plus, since the edition of non-dedicated servers, they said, "Whoops, looks like the PC community can't mod the game anymore!" To me, Call of Duty has become a game that you play for five days then you wait for the next one. I used to look forward for the new ones, now I know they're all the same. And the graphics have been the same ever since CoD4.
^that's my opinion of Call of Duty... btw, the campaigns are crap too... (End of my rage rampage.)

I enjoyed the first 3 Call of duty games and their expansions, mods etc, but after modern warfare which was *exceptional, there's nothing more to it other than it simply sucked.

... are just doing it for cash... Of course they are, that is why it is a profitable busniess, these companies are not making video games for the heck of it, they want to make money just like any other busniess! As long as people are buying, they will be selling.

Lol what a joke. I'll buy ARMA III. The series has sucked ever since MW2. Though World At War was pretty decent.

The original MW was awesome. MW2 was garbage on PC. An obvious console port that didn't even have dedicated servers or over 16 players in a death match. It was the first Call Of Duty game that I beat in less than 6 hours. Even MW1 took me something like 8-9. World At War was really fun. Fixed a lot of the MP issues. Cool weapons and the gore was awesome. Plus Nazi's and Nazi Zombies. The reason I'm so hard on this series now is because it used to be so good. The original CoD's on PC were awesome and the MP was epic. Now it's just a cash machine geared for consoles with lame, bordering on retarded story lines. People complained up the ass that WW2 was done to death in the other CoD's. At least with WW2 kids might become interested in history. A game actually has the possibility of being somewhat educational at the same time as being entertaining. Like Band of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan or something. MW1's story was pretty decent and believable. Obviously some influence from Black Hawk Down which was a good thing. MW2 was kind of out there and reminicent of a B action movie. But I didn't complain much except for its short length and crappy porting. I figured they f*cked this one up, but they'll redeem themselves with the next one... Black Ops, I complained more because sequels are supposed to improve on previous games, not be worse. Black Ops looked like crap on PC. The textures were terrible. Much worse than CoD2 which came out in 2005 or something. The story of this upcoming game looks like it's taking it to a whole new low of retardation. Is this game supposed to be taken seriously? Anyways, ranting is pointless because the masses will always buy these games. No matter how repetative. Even for the $60 price tag. Better buy it for the 2 new weapons and 1 new half assed MP feature. And that story, looks like Activision and Treyarch hired professional writers for that one... Ubisoft released ACII, Brotherhood and Revelations in a pretty short period of time. Brotherhood and Revelations had minimul gameplay improvements but even their minimal was more than CoD's maximum. And their games had deep stories. But with Revelations, they had become pretty repetive and couldn't go much further with that time period, characters etc. So at least Ubisoft planned ahead. They were working on ACIII even before Brotherhood was released, which will introduce a much upgraded engine, a new setting, characters, gameplay, etc. Activision and Treyarch need to sit down and revamp this series completely if they ever expect the original CoD fans to give them their money again. It doesn't look like that's going to happen properly anytime soon though. To hijack the thread a little, ARMA III looks pretty awesome. If you want a military simulation that's as close to real as it can get then ARMA is the game. The only downside is the game is on such a massive scale that some bugs and glitches are inevitable. I have to say though, I didn't expirience many bugs at all in ARMA II and it's expansions. Minimum system requirments are very high though. For CPU a Phenom II X4 or i5 and up is required. But it's about time a developer releases a game that will make some PC's sweat. Mine hasn't hiccuped on any new game that's come out recently and my CPU is three years old and at stock speeds. Here's some pics from the website.

To tell you the truth, I won't be surprised if they start making cod games about the civil war or the revolutionary war the way they are going. I mean from time to time when i get bored as all hell on BF3 cause the kiddies are off from school and decide to whine about everything, I'll got to MW2 or Black Ops for a while then go back onto a friends server on BF3. As for the other CODS, World at War was the first one I played from the COD series, I was more of a Medal of Honor person myself.

I'm thankful I was old enough to expirience when PC games as we know them today started coming around. I remember playing Wolfenstein 3D with my cousin on DOS in 1993. Playing Doom and Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, etc. The first game I bought a graphics card for was Hard Truck 2. Then I got a new PC when Medal of Honor Allied Assault came out in 2002. Back when 512MB of memory was pretty decent. It's funny how much technology has advanced in only 10 years. Heck even console gaming was awesome back in those days. I remember playing Sonic on Sega. There were lots of great games on Playstation in the late 90's like Metal Gear Solid and the original Medal of Honor. Even Spyro was fun as hell. As realistic and pretty as games today will get they will never be as fun as the classics.

Ehh I might get it... Don't know. I'll be getting Hitman Absolution though. I might make a thread for that.
Oh and btw, is ARMA III 3rd person or what?
I've been playing video games since the Nintendo 64 days. Mario.

As realistic and pretty as games today will get they will never be as fun as the classics. They really need to remake a new wolfenstein. One that's actually good. Same with doom. Doom was a creepy game back in the day, yet they failed hard to recreate it in that aspect with doom 3. And all their graphic capabilities of today. Sheesh. Anyways, I'm never playing COD games again until they come out with something better. World at war was the best one they came out with since cod2. We need more ww2 games dammit. Especially the bf series with the frostbite 2 engine.

Totally agree! I was thinking the same thing about WW2. They could make an epic WW2 game with the new tech that's out. WW2 was chaotic, brutal, dirty and the posibility for battles/locations are almost endless. They could even make a game with some stealth and espionage aspects set in Germany before the war or during the early stages of the war when the Nazi's were taking power. Obviously taking some creative license with the story. I also won't be buying anymore CoD's for the time being. World at War was fun and gave the series some redemption but after that it was the same old.
I was still pretty young when Wolfenstein and Doom were out. I think I was 8 when Wolfenstein came out. So the expirience was awesome. My cousin was 11, and his brother was 5. Doom was freaky. Lots of good times playing those games. Finding the BFG was the shit. What an epic game. Doom 3 was ok, but it wasn't anything really memorable like original. Hopefully Doom 4 will be good.
