AR's are for pussies that cant one shot one kill. I dont need 15 rounds when the enemy is done after one to the forehead.

Firing ranges in boot camp were hard core. A rifle butt to,the kevlar taught you quickly how to not waste ammo.

Okay...

I'd say AR's are also for people like myself who are a fan of US military's standard issue stuff. I doubt I would need that many rounds to take out a guy either, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to own one. It just takes the place of some other .223 rifle I would own anyway. Besides, if we're talking about self defense an M9 (which I also want to own when I can afford one) would be my first resort if I even had to resort to using a gun.

Truthfully if you look at pen tests done with the 5.56/.223 vs the 7.62x39, the 7.62 is the way to go, may be traveling slower but its got more then twice the mass of a 5.56/.223. Of course its not suitable for long range out of an AK, but in reality who's going for spot on accuracy, if you drop what you aim at thats all that matters.

I've turned into a prepper almost. Got ammo cans full of ammo for each and every caliber of gun in the house, though its gonna blow ass when I gotta stock up on .308 for my next gun.

More then likely gonna start doing drills during the summer months.

Edit: If you're looking for a good rifle and cheap ammo to go with it, call around to your local gunstores and see if they have any SKS's. They can go anywhere from $200-$450 depending on condition, only seen a few 'rare' SKS rifles go for over $600. Plus the ammo for it's relatively cheap. 100rds of 7.62x39 i think is under $20 for the steel cased Tulammo.

The ftf's and the spitting of the ammo is a mag issue, your feed lips on the mag need to be adjusted with a pair of vice grips. The FTEs are more then likely due to carbon buildup from the steely ammo. A right good soaking in CLP should do it good.

Mine was doing the same thing, ended up soaking the whole damn thing minus the wood stock and gas tube in CLP and cleaned it 3 times. Then adjusted the mag twice before it stopped its stupid shit.

And that's why I don't mind the 5.56 being a smaller bullet, they're adequate enough for my needs. Anything to get away from .22LR's. Most of the guns I shoot are that caliber and it's bored me to death, plus the constant shortages of them where I live.

Although honestly I'm rather biased towards the M16 so naturally I gravitate towards them more. This is what I want to get:

They're pretty much always out of stock because people go nuts and buy them whenever there's a gun control scare, but when they're in stock they're always under $800. Not gonna do much else to it other than obviously get a carry handle, maybe a different trigger and eventually a 4x32 or similar scope if I feel like having one.

Deltons are hard to find right now for what ever reason, even the gunstores around here that carry anything you can wish for short of a rocket launcher doesnt have them

This one i agree on. As a Tanker we could not fit M-16s in the cramped space with us so our personal service weapon was a Beretta 9mm. I loved that thing. When you qualify they send you down range with 40 rounds and present 30 targets. So if you shoot perfect you come back with 10 rounds.i shot perfect and came back with 11. 2 targets one round. That pistol was amazing.

Im not going to lie a personal Ar15 setup like an M4 would be badass to own but its not needed. I just bought an HMR savage 17. I think that little beast is just as fun as the m4 was just without full auto.

Well you can't really compare yourself to regular infantry. You have a massive 120mm cannon and 2 m2 machine guns plus a shitload of armor lol

So for those who are not on my Fb page i would just like to let everyone know that yesterday my wife and I found out that my 1st child is going to be a girl.

She is due June 10th. I was a little worried at 1st being almost 40 that there could be some genetic issues. Not that I would love her any less. But all tests came back negetive.

Im sure most wont care but there are still a few guys on here that have been around for a lot of years that I hope would like the news.
