Mick your forum was good in the pttm days but it's not the same. It's kind of not even fun anymore to me. That's when we built whatever not being like anyone and if you and another guy had the same truck it was all cool. Yea i hear ya. I feel the same way man. Was fun back then though. I just think its pretty cool some of you guys even remember it haha Well atleast someone does anyways Yeah your forum was the place. It wasn't like truckpol where there were just kids. Back then I couldn't type for jack shit and my grammar was horrible. Good Times.

anyone remember they gay strip local in ivans last pttm map? it was decided to repwomen and sandcock.
missing the good ol' time...
still remember bill's original trucksims.com... i hated when it went down and i had to use truckpol... truckpol never touched trucksims. truckpol was just a small tiny place, trucksims was huge as fuck and i still believe in truckpol mods used to kill trucksims to get the members.
i also remember the rage against europeans on truckpol, resulting loosing crap loads of euro people on my own forum... that made my forum growing so big... they still hate me for that...

i admit i use to be the biggest IH fan out there ;D Yeah, he was. The only one with the first 9900 made by smarty, and the only one who acutally did a good job on International's back then too, He didn't touch very many other brands. What was your old name? It went from like Gab9900 to Gab9400? Cause i remember you saying, everyone asked you for the 9900 lmao!

Late 2008 for me. I was behind the curve. Mainly because I never had my own computer until then. Not to sound cocky tho but I am living proof that you don't need to be around since the beginning to get the respect from the veterans. You just need to show them the respect they deserve. In my time the guys I have looked up to the most have got to be Steve 1st and foremost Claus who I have come to consider a good friend. Aaron K. who may be a hard ass on here but in real life is a really good guy. Chris who has given me a tremendous responsibility here even with my sometimes Bitchy demeanor. Rowan who to this day still has the best T600 ever released. These guys have all shaped this community into what it is now. And even though sometimes people complain about how they handle things, you know what I would be crabby also if I have dealt with some of you peckerheads for this long

I joined TP back in March of '06, did not really start getting active in the community until around '09-'10. I'm glad I found this place, been good times with a good community

Damn. I never knew this thread was here! I definitely didn't know about those old communities. This is like going to history class and learning the awesome shit from the past! Too bad I've only been here about 3 years. I got ALH in 2008 but had dial up so I only played the stock trucks on a shitty pc. I think my first forum was Mods4ever but I was never active at all. I joined TP after that and then a little later I was introduced here. I think that was 2011. I wasn't active here until like the last 2 years. I feel like I improved greatly over a few short years. I do miss not looking for the highest poly models and super duper trucks and what not. The days of fun are fleeting...

I read right up until Dan's bump thinking the whole thread was new. I was like wholy shit look at all these people that showed up for the thread. Even Cody broke free from bmq. But alas it's more like a casualty list. I remember when I first started and I went to haulin mods for a lot of stuff because at the time it was the best. The veterans for me when I started were guys like Jerry aka phantom359, triple H and even Matt aka superman. I thought Steve aka evh whatever the hell it was aka 5150 was gone and too cool for me to talk to lol. Even when I started at kti I was shocked getting to know the guys especially hearing their voices. I remember when bora did his first volvos and cheetahs and when Jason was still moose78 with his eel river transport. What really got me thinking about this was looking at some old screens. Using one of triple H's trucks or xxXxx's logging map. My first mods was dancanman's ice road map running an ice road division with a dude name penguin. He made me a storage file that I used forever because I didn't know how. It's funny how we jump on the noobs so much now. It seems like the more recent ones that made it got a lot better faster.
Sorry for the book. I hope we see some older truck sims generations come out. I was July 09 at truckpol and October 09 here.
Edit: I forgot to throw Chris in there as a legend for me. I forgot he was bayonet. Some good mods for their time. And which was Jerry the helpful guy, phantom or phantom 359?

Damn; never seen this thread. Anyhow..lets see..
I came across Truckpol a few weeks after I got Haulin, I was looking for better trucks and low and behold there were some. Signed up as cascadia45..lol I don't even know why, the Cascadia was a new truck and I liked it. Anyhow I posted a few replies there and Jon gave me shot about using his name (Cascadia.) that was funny. This was what..2007? Something like that. Been in Truckpol for a while, found Haulinmods and that was my favorite mod site, and then came across this place. Lol. Signed up, made some posts and got a load of shit from Chris and Cody, lmao. Remember that? I got pissed and talked back, got banned from here, unbanned and then moved on. Fun times. Ya, I remember Sandhawk and Repman too..I actually talked to Repman on MSN a few times, back when they wanted to make me moderator,.and that didn't happen. Never log into Truckpol anymore really. Lets see, later I started my Con-way VTC, got more involved and established here, later moved on from VTCs in general, and here I am. Lol

My favorite part of the past believe it or not was when I sucked at modding and so did mostly everyone else. Like when dan came around, he started that first ice road truckers map with mike for haulin. I loved that shitty old map, I believe the only other map around back then was Ivan's but at the time was private, and glenn52's map but his was the stock map with added gas stations and shit. The ice road map was more a break from the norm.
Back in I think 06, mitch taught me how to get models into the game. Back then everything was a secret pretty much still and no tuts except slamauser's poor english translated tutorial was available. Mitch is the truckmodshop saint, without him I probably woulda quit back then and this place wouldn't exist. And of course I owe my modding career to rowan who made me a better modeler in every way imaginable. Good times all the way through. This place seems dull now compared to back then.

2003/2004 was my first forum experience on the 3dartpol forum... I remember being pissed off because no one had made a good T600, so I learned myself Zmod and started building stuff. The rest is history. Glad I could help out some guys around here though

Hell..I started playing Hard Truck 2 and The original 18 WoS back in 2007/2008, and didn't even know there were forums for trucking games until I got ALH and got tired of the stock models. Started googling for mods and...I think it was Triple H's site? Haulin' Mods or something like that was the only site I would ever go to to get mods. Like Kyle, Jerry, Triple H, Matt, along with Bora, were the first ones I really thought of as Veterans because I started at TP so I never really met the "TMS-only" people. Didn't even know Bayonet was the same person as Chris until a year or so ago Really didn't get into the VTC world until I helped Tyler run CWTL..gotta say, I don't think I ever seen more members of a vtc on at the same time with that VTC, and I don't think I ever will again. Tyler, you did a damn fine job at running CWTL. Seems a lot of ya'll have a lot more time under your belt than me...only been in this community for 2-3 years, and it seems some have been since some of the first games were released! But I guess without all you veterans out there, this community wouldn't be where it is today.

I joined somewhere around late 2006/early 2007, but before I was active in the community I was a longtime visitor of 3dartpol, NECR, TruckSimSkins, and Truckpol's official site. From when I first got Hard Truck 2 right away I knew there had to be other people who played this, so here I am a little tot learning how to use the internet and find websites dedicated to these games coming out. Back when dial-up was cool, lol. I still remember tripping out when I would see pictures of the newer games such as 18WoS: Across America and PTTM, that and when I would go on 3dartpol and TSS for all the latest and greatest mods at the time, those were the days. That and I remember spending long hours playing HT18WoS and using a few mods here and there, now that I look back it still amazes me as to how things were back then and how we were all happy, back when things were simpler. Then one day I decided to join TP's forum back in late 2006. Things changed forever on. Seen alot that's for sure, been through alot. Watched new members progress, saw old members leave, saw a hell lot of forum conflicts, had my fair share of run ins with people and shitty staff they had there. Then I remember coming to the Pre-TMS, which I believe was Trucksims? Well the forum before this actual one, it was so far back that this memory ain't worth it for me anymore, lol. I'm just glad I can still see alot of the members here who stuck it through those times.. and here we all are now! Some of you who remember I was "rw" back at TP, how I was different then, believe me I hate myself now for what I was back then, but hey it is what it is!

I joined after this forum opened up, I think Cody posted the link on Truckpol, or someone told me about it over xfire, but after becoming a member here, I did rage quit once, and re opened my account been here ever since then, met a lot of other people like Corey #3 , Aaron K. (aka Kolator, Kolatinator), Malcolm, Cedric, Claus (Bora), Dan, the human encyclopedia Aaron P, whatever happened to him? I was apart of KTI for a very short amount of time until I got into the Flightsim genre that was when Kolatinator went to training. Haven't really been to any other forums besides this one. If you are just now joining, stick around. You will learn a lot from the veterans here and meet a lot of other people who share the same or similar interests as you. EDIT: I also met Luke (Signsmasher) on here, when he was getting into the whole bus thing. Good ol' times on xfire with everyone in the past. But as we get older we grow out of things that once interested us while we were a bit younger, and that I believe is somewhat the reason most people disappear from these forums.

How the hell have I never seen this thread before? Well, let me throw in my little story: I didn't really care much about trucking until I picked up 18 WoS Across America in December 2003. Played the shit out of that all throughout 5th grade on a god-awful compaq. I was lucky if I got 10 fps. My average was 6 or 7 I think. But yeah, eventually stopped after a while because I was interested in other things, then installed it again in early 07 when I got a new pc. Started gettin into youtube and looking up videos of other 18wos games, then found one of someone dicking around in a police car in Convoy. Then I found out about mods, and more importantly, HAULIN!!! To this day, it's still my favorite trucksim. Even if it's shit compared to today's standards. I haven't loved anything near as much after haulin. But yeah, I got haulin, found 3dartpol's website, started installing shit, had lots of fun with the Rignroll V3 map (CLASSIC!) and other neat stuff, and then found the Truckpol website in September 2007. Wasn't much there, so I went to click the Forum button only to be shut out because they don't let people view the forum unless they're members. Damn. Well, then I signed up to check it out. I'll just throw in there, I had a hell of a time picking a username. Cascadia definitely wasn't my first choice. I liked the freightliner trucks a lot, so I tried Freightliner...nope. Staff member already had it. Century? I guess not, I think someone else had that one too (which would have been a cooler name). But I noticed that they had a brand new truck coming out, and I liked the looks of it a lot. So I picked its name. No one had it, so whatever. (Yeah Tyler it looked like I gave you shit about it but I was really just joking, lol) I hate that name now, but not enough to change it like everyone else has done at least once already. Doesn't matter now since most people call me Jon anyway. Fast forward a bit, I wanted to be a modder, found out how to pack scs files right (which was weird that I couldn't do storages correctly lol) I read Ivan's tutorial and learned a lot of stuff from that, made a couple SCS interior skins and pointless menu music mods, learned how to use zmod, more nice little mods for their time, Joined my first VTC Transpoint Trucking, made some shitty reflection mods, got bashed for it and then got banned from Truckpol for lashing out at Chris. Still pretty funny how I had a grudge against him for a while until I knocked off the childish stuff, now he's one of the coolest guys I know from the community. But yeah, I remember JD Customs. Was a pretty sweet place to go and the only place for me to go when I got banned and the Trucksims guys shot me down (for the same reasons I got banned from TP). Jordan was pretty unpredicable when it came to deciding to leave it stay in the community. I made a few friends on xfire, including an awesome feller named Rex (he went by Trucker789 for those who are unfamiliar) who had been around for a bit longer than I was, and liked my shitty PTTM daycab conversions. It's not too weird to have a best internet friend, is it? Because this guy is. He may not have wanted to tolerate the shit in this community nor this forum, but we still talk a lot on steam, and he and I still run Lone Wolf Customs. Shit, that summer 2008 was my favorite time in this community...I still miss it some days. Back when everyone's truck had jaggies and used the same frame Polarexpress made from Ivan's PTTM pete. And SCS interiors were less unbearable to look at. Later on I would hang out at forums with Rex and, once I started behaving myself better, Trucksims. Man don't we all remember that day when Ivan released his new Peterbilt? I was camping for the weekend, so I come back on Columbus day and see everyone, and I mean EVERYONE driving that truck, I was like SON OF A BITCH I MISSED THE PARTY LOL!!! So yeah, more random rambling on about my life, being incredibly observant of the other guys discussing how stuff works in zmod and haulin......you know, that's mostly how I learned. I would read a lot when I was browsing that forum every day. A lot of the posts you older guys have made in that time, have really helped me understand better. Learned more, Trucksims closes down, TMS opens, more awesome mods, Rex and I open Hurd Trucking (which was H&W for a little bit until he wanted the other name instead), Extreme Trucker, Peterbilt flattops, I stopped publicly modding for a while to help make models and stuff for Rex's company map, HT closes, I start over with haulin, W900L, I disappear for almost a year, come back.........Well by this point it's no longer history. Believe me, I had it much more in detail than this. To sum it up, this has been an amazing piece of my life, and it'd be a pretty tough day when/if I find that I don't want to be a part of it anymore. But seeing guys around that have been here for 10 years? I guess I can say that that day won't be coming any time soon.

For my little story,
I've been around since 1 years now. I know my account was created on 2011, but i started posting in May last year, While I was joining JnD. There, Tiloup have learned me how to mod, and tell me alot of tip and tricks. From there, I've continued modding. Before, where my vtc "career" started, it was at Con-way truck load, owned by Cody J. ( If i'm right ). After, I joined Robert Heath, Owned by Scroggins, again, if i'm right. So, it's just when i joined JnD that i actually started posting on TMS, Really like it here. After JnD, Me and Tiloup opened SilverStar Express, that have been rolling for 7 month, i think. After, I joined GHT with alot of guys that i knew before, So it make 1 complete year that i'm modding. I've started playing truck games when i was like 9, i'm 15 now. it was 18 Wos Across America. Few year after, I bought 18 wos haulin, and like one week after, i've started putting mods into my game, replacement mod of course.
So that's my little story, I know it's kinda mess up how i set it.. I really like this community and i'll stay as long as I can.
