So I know there's a post for Diecast Model Rigs and trailers but I thought it'd be nice to post some pics of my models I enjoy making. My two projects currently are one Peterbilt 359 (Historic Series) and one Freightliner Conventional Cab and a Fruehauf trailer Peterbilt 359 Freightliner with Fruehauf Trailer Speaking of which, when I painted these trucks with paint brushes (ones used for painting models like these) they came out ridiculous and I'm redoing the paint but what colors will be perfect for these two trucks? Also don't be afraid to post up your own DIY model projects.

I have that same 359 model, had plans to start on it after I was done with football season, but sadly it's still sitting in the box beside my desk.

Yeah, still waiting on the paint thinner and the new replacement parts to come in. I made some mistakes on the cabs and frames so I'll be redoing them. While I was removing some paint off the Freightliner's axle, one of the pins broke off haha, wasn't exactly too happy.

What kind of '57 Chevy? I got the 1957 Chevrolet Corvette . I am interested in military as well so I have the B-17 Flying Fortress and a AH-64D Apache, those are the only two so far, Ferrari 599 and I think that's about it.

There maybe some rust colored acrylic paint you could use for the frame. Would look way better to use that to show years of usage.

There maybe some rust colored acrylic paint you could use for the frame. Would look way better to use that to show years of usage. The problem I have found with using paint for weathering is that it's difficult to spread it out where it looks realistic. On any frame you will have parts that are constantly exposed to the elements versus parts that are fully or partially covered that won't be weathered as bad. The chassis in the photo isn't complete as far as weathering goes. Acrylic rust works best imo if you are doing a total rust bucket vehicle that would be almost covered in rust. True but there is a way to make your vehicle look like it's been weathered, I've seen some neat tricks on the internet on how to make a model look worn down. But I only suggested the rusty frame because of the realistic look you were making your dually look.

New update guys, 7/1/2015: I got my 378 in yesterday and so far I'm pretty impressed with it. So far I'm doing a gloss black and blue colors to the body. There's still bit of metal silver on the sleepers but I'm fixing that soon. 7/2/2015 Update #2: So I finally got the decision on what to paint the interior. Still a WiP and a lot of paint in areas that it shouldn't be but it'll be fixed along the way. So far so good with the painting .

I paint all my door jambs and little aluminum/chrome with a toothpick. If you take your time and do it right it comes out almost perfect.

I'll try that when I can find a toothpick lol...gotta buy more gloss black paint because I ran out of it but I'll be sure to use the toothpick for the hard to reach areas.
