I love that steering wheel, the truck my dad drives once in a while has the same one. You'll be able to fix that truck up nicely. the good thing about classic's is all the parts are really easy to find.

Yea that's definitely a project. lol Needs a lot of tlc before you start adding special stuff. Could use new paint from the look of it, interior updates, etc. I'm curious to see how long this takes you! I've wanted to get a project truck for a long time.

You may want to rebuild the motor first, because those classics are notorious for blowing when they've reached over 1m miles. From the looks of it, it wasn't well taken care of, so there may be surprises hiding in there. All in all it looks like a great restoration project, and you got it for the right price.

there you go put a kitten under the hood. the c-16 is nice but id probably put a C-15 or a 3406b but which ever you can get is great.

Honestly, I love a 3406b, but I don't know if I would put one in this truck. That is just my opinion, a lot of you guys will hail me for that, but its just my opinion.
Edit heres how mines sitting right now getting a muffler put on since it broke off on the bottom. Since I was unable to get the pipes to work, since I bought them used, non of the clamps match. So next week I should have them on.

Why not? It would make more sense fuel wise to have a c-15 in it, but a 3406b is a good motor.

Again, people will hail me, if there is some sort of problem with it, You wont be able to plug into it and diagnose it, It would make more sense IMO to put like you said a c15 or leave the Detroit in it and rebuild it.

Or OOORRR! The C57 4891D Flux Capacitor 2000. Best fuel economy in it's class. #HaveNoClueWhatIJustSaid Yeah but the C57 4891D Flux Capacitor 2000 is a mining truck motor, it goes in the 71097K 6X6 natural gas-hybrid haul truck, how'd it fit under that hood? But in reality, i'd go with a non Acert for a Cat, or an Acert with a single turbo kit. The C16 is an Acert right?

C-16 is a c15 with a different crank, I don't believe it's an accert but I also don't see a point in doing the swap to one. They seem to have alot more issues than a typical MBN or 6NZ.
