Think of it this way, what did people do in 1984? They parked there 1984 359 in there driveway.

Here's what it comes down to, I live in the middle of 100 acres of farm ground, if you don't like what's in my drive way I really don't give a fuck. That's why I would never make it in a neighbor hood.

I'll explain a little better. This man isn't a nice guy to begin with, we've had run-ins with him before over dad keeping the trash cans infront of the garage door instead of in the back yard. He called the cops on my air compressor one night at 10pm. He lives 5 houses down...
He put up a sign last year on the 4th that said "freedom isn't free, pay your dues" which pissed me off. That's not what freedom is about, the people that protect it, or the holiday itself.
The old woman that lived across the street from him had a storm shelter, she moved closer to her family and kept the house. She told her neighbor, who is a good friend of mine and my dads to use it any time we wanted to, don't hesitate. We live a mile west of Moore for god sakes, home of multiple F5 tornadoes. That asshole put a lock on it that only he has a key to.
He's just a crabass old man with a thorn up his ass. If he would have politely asked me why'd truck was there I would have politely explained it to him and explained it would be there 3 days tops but instead of he comes over telling me I was making the neighborhood look bad and is better get it moved or he will. After that sentence, I have no more respect for him.
We keep our house nice, grass mowed, trees trimmed, no trash, nothing. For 3 days he can kiss me ass. His yard has a circle drive so its mostly concrete anyways.

Now on the 359's side of things, I went and washed it with the "wash bay" hose with a power attachment inside the storage unit tonight. Cleaned it up a little but still need to scrub and polish it to really clean it. Think that's gonna be a streakin beacon job when I tag it...pics soon.

There's a guy on facebook parting out a 77 359 dump truck. Is that any help to you?

There's a guy on facebook parting out a 77 359 dump truck. Is that any help to you? Eh yes and no. In 77 the tombstone (corvette) dash became an option and in 78 it was standard until the 379 came out. I think the cabs are the same but I'm not 100% on that. Is it an EXHD or a standard? My motor is really solid and my transmission shifts really smooth. My main problem now is my frame which will come with time and my rear ends which I pretty much have a good set, just need to get them down here. The dash is more than likely different so the only thing I could probably use it for is chrome right now and sadly I'm not even near that part of the build.

You're not there, but it wouldn't hurt to have replacement parts. Too bad you don't have a big shop, it'd be worth tearing the rig down to see the whole thing. Would make it a lot easier to change frame/rear ends etc if it was all torn down.

When it comes to neighbors, my friends often tell me how I survive living in the Confederacy since quite a few fix up old pickups and always walk around with their beer bellies showing, yet we've never had any problems simply because they don't work on their stuff late at night and even during the day they're smart enough to not stir up too much noise or attention even when doing test revs and such. The only problem however is for one house in particular that owns a shitload of cars and always parks them in the street in front of other houses including mine, when we all use that street parking for our own cars. And we do have one guy who sometimes brings his rig in the neighborhood, most attention he'll get is someone asking to sparingly use his generator and that's about it. Other than that people pretty much stay out of each other's way even when their driveway has something that's not necessarily eye candy. That old man deserved the banner and the revving and horn usage from my viewpoint.

The pictures I saw the hood wasn't on it. He has the hood though. Motor is gone I believe as well. Doesn't sound like its much use to you though do I wouldn't worry.

About the only thing I could really use would be the shift boot and the trim for it.

Anyone know where a 362 being parted out with a tilt column is at? I want the column. Bolts right in place to a 359, and tilt is just down right better.

Your friends with him? haha I tried buying it when it had the fairings on it, but he decided to keep it. I then found the late 80s early 90s 379 fan page and he was on it. He added me as a friend and we talk every now and then. real cool guy.

yeah its on long island craigslist. I tried buying it in 2010 or 2011. he wanted $10,000. Now hes got some money in it and I cant afford it. I still don't think hes gunna sell it cause I asked him about it a month ago and he said typical tire kickers, he said he might keep it.
