My thoughts At the beginning I was really keen on the idea of changing Things up But you Guys stated some very valid points that I never thought of I still think it would be nice to merge some of the screentopics, with the input from you Guys I now see merging it all into one aint the way to do it. Like someone mentioned somewhere up above I think it would be nice to merge some of the screentopics, make it like 1 topic for each part of the World I guess, like 1 topic for US/Canadian gear, another one for Australian vehicles and as the last one make a screentopic for European trucks/trailers, I think it would make some of the never games more visible, like some have converted their US/Canadian trucks to GTS but with a topic for GTS those nice looking rigs kinda "vanish in the crowd", just my 2 cents

Problem I have with this idea is that there's going to be so many new pages of screenshots everyday that it would take way too long to look at the screenshots that you want to see. Not every ones into the same style of truck sims and I think it might be frustrating for some people having all of the screenshots in one thread. *2cents*

Seriously...hold this off till after the New game is released...then maybe make 3d section just that...anything 3d...then take all 3d forums down, but 1,keep each respective games screenshot section as is...

And about the pages and pages of screens, I don't really think it would be as big of a problem as we're thinking. If more people used the spoiler for their pics, let's say every pic past the first one in a spoiler, it really wouldn't look that much different than what we have now, and there would definitely more interaction between all the groups. I personally go back in the ETS2 thread and the Haulin thread many times and look over some of the screens I've missed. But as -=Bora=- said, some games like GTS get almost no attention, but there are some simply awesome trucks in there, and the same for FS. I have some really decent Peterbilts, but almost no one looks at the thread because they assume it's full of pictures of people harvesting corn or grain. EDIT: And, here's one way we could test the idea if there's no consensus. Let's have a trial thread for about a week trying the American/Canadian trucks section, Australian trucks section, and European trucks section. If it's a disaster, then it's easy to delete the thread while not messing up the existing system. Just saying.

Broken record chime in time. "If it ain't broke, Don't fix it" "If it's worked for 4 almost 5 years, Why change it now?" "Just leave it as is, Some people have a hard time posting in the right section as it is. Why make it even worse" Waaayy further off topic then Colonel, Can we Capitalize the "post your ride" Topic name? LOL It's bugging me. Sweet thanks

I'm on the side of not combining. As well as the reasons already posted, I can envision a big American vs European flamewar happening....

The main logic behind my point of the multiple per continent based screenshot threads is that is how it basically is already. About 95% of the pictures in the ETS2 category are of European trucks, so the European section would be mostly ETS2 stuff.
On the other hand, the Haulin stuff is 99% American/Canadian with a little bit of Australian stuff in there. So the American section would basically be Haulin. Then for Australia, it would be mostly Extreme Trucker 2 stuff with a little bit of Haulin stuff mixed in.
But at the same time, if someone who has converted a really cool truck to GTA V (I don't know if this has happened yet or not, but it likely will in the future) wants to post their truck photo, which would have the graphical quality of the best Haulin shots at the least, they wouldn't be forced to post in a thread that's only viewed by a tiny percentage of the people on the forum and that gets no real attention regardless of the quality of the screenshot.
And then again, I would strongly suggest testing any changes before making them permanent so that we always have the old threads to fall back on.

But think of it this way: our screenshot contests have proven that having multiple games competing on the same level will work.
The last contest had shots from Haulin, Farming Simulator, and Extreme Trucker 2. And Haulin and Farming Sim tied for first place.
And the same is true for the truckshows. I won second place with a truck in Farming Sim for the work trucks section, and I was surrounded by other models from Extreme Trucker 2, Haulin, and probably other games.

Well, I'm going to present a totally different plan that I think would be interesting to see put into practice. We all know that Haulin, GTS, ETS2, and Extreme Trucker 2 have great graphics while games like PTTM, GTS SA, and so on have less crisp, older graphics. So how about instead of having the various screenshot threads kept separate, we had a general North American trucking thread, a European trucking thread, a South American trucking thread, and an Australian trucking thread, that allowed users who play any of the newer games to post in a general by continent thread. Then have similar threads, or maybe the current threads for the older games like PTTM which aren't played as much, and an other section divided into special categories for gaming pictures not related to trucking: farming itself, racing, trains, etc. I'm not trying to be haughty or something, but I'd say some of my screens are equally as good as Haulin and occasionally as good as ETS 2, and it would be cool to see a common continent-based trucking thread instead of all the various threads. [image]Not only would everyone have more exposure, but I think it would be more fun for the whole forum, and especially for those of us who play games that don't have as great a following in this community. However, I'm not saying that we should get rid of the Farming Simulator thread altogether as that could still be used for farming only pictures (tractors, farmyards, buildings, harvesting equipment and the like), and I would agree that combining the 3d sections would be a good idea as well. Now to expand the idea even further, if the site was divided into cars, trucks, trains, planes, and other games (FPS games like Day-Z and so on, farming pictures, and various other things), then I think it would bring the forum together as one cohesive unit. It's just a thought, but I felt like sharing it. Sorry going back a long way to quote but this seems to be where the discussions headed. Im australian and (no offence to anyone) hate the american style truck you blokes are running in haulin but dont mind the ones gettin round in extreme trucker 2. If it goes to categories i wont be able to see the et2 american gear without goin through all the haulin stuff i really dont wanna look at. The other problem i see as an australian trucks modder is that theres only a few of us that do aussie truck, Bora Quentin Jack and myself really and we're not all that regular so that section isnt really gonna be getting far and we have another forum that is australian only we use aswell so i can see us probably just posting on there instead of on here. I dont know for sure but id say the people who do the american trucks i dont like more then likely dont like my trucks either so their not gonna be lookin in the aussie section to keep it a bit more active.

Well, that's definitely not me. I love trucks, regardless of where they're from. Aussie stuff is awesome, Scanias and some DAFs in Europe and really cool, and American/Canadian stuff is great as well. But to go back to my point, the Extreme Trucker 2 section isn't that active now anyways, and it's about half Aussie stuff. The Haulin section is really active, but it's about 1% Aussie stuff. So if you combine the two, then if you only want to see Aussie stuff mostly from Extreme Trucker, you can just look at the Aussie section, which I know I'd do. And if you want to look at ETS 2, you can look at the Europe section which would be mostly from ETS 2 anyways.

I still don't understand the need to change anything. I mean, honestly. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this forum. It's worked for 4 years and it will keep working. We aren't going to dissipate because there are a few inactive threads/boards. I'd say it's safe to say that no one was complaining about the forum setup. It's easy to navigate and it keeps things organized. Just let it be and lets devote our time to doing something usefull instead of flooding this thread with novels about what we think. We're all a bunch of morons with an obsession to trucks. lol

Personally, I say keep all the threads separate, especially the screenshots/3D progress threads. I mainly look at Haulin' pics, and I don't want to see Euro trucks (They are hideous to me) when looking specifically for Haulin' screenshots. Same goes with the 3D thread.

The way I see it is, the switch over to v5 has changed the forum enough. Graphic wise, the forum looks alot more modern. But I always liked the layout of this forum compared to others. It's basic and always worked well. Close to what trucksims was, but slightly different.

I'm for not changing. If we merge all the stuff together (3d artwork) you will have countless posts of "What game is this for!?" etc. I've been around here for almost over 2 years and I like this site because the organizing of all the games is simple to work with.

I dont see a problem with combining the 3d sections cause as someone said, when its in your modding program its all the same
