It's like arma 2, only with a bigger map, a better inventory, weapon and clothing systems and all dem graphics. PIX: For those unfamiliar with the concept, ARMA is a hyper-realistic battlefield simulator with a huge, 100% open worldmap that looks like this in arma 3: Yeah, you can explore every nook and cranny of the map using guns, boats, plane(damnit developers, only one plane in the base game?!?!), tanks and a wide assortment of infantry gear and guns. Sure it doesn't have a campaign (!?!?!?) but it has an incredibly active modding scene. ARMA 2 modded is a far cry from the base game, and ARMA 3 will be an even bigger departure once things get going. Most people play co-op, but there is Pvp and that dreaded zombie mod which we shall not name. Some of these shots are from the ALPHA but the game's been released and you can go buy it on Steam here to give GabeN all your money. After you do that, go friend me on steam here so we can play! I've seen a little bit about it. How does gameplay work? Like with the whole map thing what's the point, how do you win and what are you trying to accomplish.

I've played the BETA on Steam, but my old card couldn't handle it, hopefully my 650-ti EVGA will play it with no problems, But the game play, is amazing, a lot better than arma 2.

There's really not a "win." You just play, and play, and play. I'm not sure about the co-op, only dayz and multiplayer. If it ever goes on sale(since I was too stupid to buy while in beta) I will get it. It looks awesome and I'll probably play it quite a bit, but I wont pay more than $45 for it as that was what it was during beta.

Even after watching a little bit of YouTube I'm confused on the point of the game. I get that it's a military shooter/simulation, but what's the goal you're trying to accomplish?

Even after watching a little bit of YouTube I'm confused on the point of the game. I get that it's a military shooter/simulation, but what's the goal you're trying to accomplish? You should take a look at the STEAM workshop page. For arma 3, the developers give you the environment to play around in and a really flexible editor that allows players to make missions. Take a look at the description of this mission:

The point of the game is for you, the user, to create and carry out your own missions. I know that in Arma 2 you have a campaign that offered a multitude of missions that were designed to replicate real-world war. Arma 3 is for the user to enjoy, a game doesn't have to have a set specific default goal for it to be fun. By being able to create your own missions and objectives, you're given the flexibility to have fun in any way you wish. You'd really just have to play arma in order to fully understand the game and its glory. Arma is its own game and there is nothing else like it. You can probably watch and get arma 2 for cheap on sale on steam and then you can experience it. I suggest that you add either myself(kelleymcalest) or Dan so that you can play with a friend and learn the game. You can't really just watch a couple videos and understand the game, as Dan will tell you, he's been playing for a long time and still doesn't know everything about Arma 2 and Arma 3 is already out. It's a never ending game of learning, adventure, and realistic warfare(should you choose to make it that way).

It's hard to show all the things you can do in a few videos. I'm glad you decided to watch multiple so you can get the idea of what's going on. There's really just so much you can do in these games. It's a great series and my second favorite series, next to the Battlefield series.

Most of the videos I watched were of 3 and they were pretty hard core realism groups, but it looks really cool. I like how some guys have real units and they group up with others. I've been watching a few by a guy named jester 814.

Buy Arma 3 on SteamWent on a mission Saturday night with Rex (who designed the mission) and Jon (not pictured in some of these shots, sorry buddy!). After insertion, we were tasked with clearing an enemy headquarters inside a house on a hill. Rex is covering me as I move up the hill. I really dislike not having cover. After clearing the house, we moved over the hill into a small town with four weapons caches which we were tasked with destroying. As the sun set, we crept around an MG emplacement, using what little cover we could find: As darkness fell, we found ourselves in a fierce firefight with the rebels who were guarding the cache. After taking heavy fire, we fell back into the shaky cover of an old house. A group of enemies rushed us, and we attempted to conceal our exact location with more smoke, which lead to some tense moments as we covered the doorways: The smoke gave us the advantage we needed to survive the enemies attacks and push through the town to destroy the third weapons cache. we proceeded west to push towards the final cache in a remote shead, and we found ourselves with some heavy support (finally!) Once the final site was cleared and destroyed, our armor pushed south, and we moved north to be extracted by helicopter. The landing zone was clear, making for a quick and painless extraction under the cover of darkness: As we flew back to our FOB, I took this shot on the slat. It's a nice view when you aren't taking gunfire! As I was marking up the map during our debriefing, HQ sent us a strange transmission, I'm not sure what to make of it...

Well dayz is kindof broken right now, as in it doesn't really have anything. Arma 3 is an amazing game, but can be VERY demanding as far as computing power. I will, however, say that Arma 3 is AWESOME! Even though Dan sucks, the game is still good!
