Thanks. I'm working on making some custom scenarios for Castle Rock and Horseshoe Curve. 2 Norfolk Southern Dash-9 CWs idling in a scenario I'm making for Horseshoe.

You can make scenarios/routes/skins. But to work the other player needs the exact same DLC's and files installed. The Norfolk Southern/ATSF/BNSF/CN Dash-9 pack has the most detailed 4000+HP locomotives in the game. Very nice indeed. I hope the developers will release some NFS based routes. I love the NFS locos in particular. I'd also love for a release of the GE AC6000CW. What a beast that thing is. Would be a cool loco for a CSX route. Here's a couple more. Running two UP GE CW44AC's pulling an intermodal load to Castle Rock.

I might as well release some when I make ones that are longer and more interesting. Right now I'm still getting used to the Editor. Luckily it's pretty easy. If anyone's interested I'd consider making a couple tutorials.

Pics still don't seem to be working Arctic. The game has been running pretty smooth for me since they released an update a few months ago fixing some issues. Here's a couple more pics.

Pics still don't seem to be working Arctic. Yeah I know, I made a new profile and even took the originals and converted to JPEP. What is weird is that the pictures are working fine another forum site(Railworks America)

From time to time I'll be posting a little information on the basics of using the editor in RW3. The first thing I'm going to mention is simply how to place an engine and or piece of rolling stock. The editor is easy to use and I actually figured out everything I know so far on my own, so if you're interested in making your own scenarios you can just jump right in and teach yourself. Not too difficult. Anyway, the first pic is just an overview of the various tool bars in the editor that you'd be using for basic scenario creation. Just "pin" them to the sides of the screen by clicking the little tack icon in the upper right corners. 1. This is the editor's main option bar that includes the various modes you can enter. The circled yellow train at the top is the scenario creation mode. You'll automatically be in this mode if you choose to create a new scenario from the game's main menu. The icons in this menu are pretty self explainatory. And you can also hover the mouse over virtually any icon in the editor and a tool tip will tell you what it's for. Very simple. In other tutorials I'll use some of those other icons and have more information on how to use their functions. 2. This bar includes all the game's objects like rolling stock, engines, vehicles, buildings, bridges, flora, etc. It also has a Consist tab that comes in handy. 3. When the editor first loads up this tool bar will be on the right side. Again, pretty self explainatory. Add a name for the scenario, description that will be seen at the game's main screen, and a description for the in-game briefing. You can change the scenario's date, time, season and weather also. Time is done in military. 4. This isn't really too important and I don't keep it pinned, but it displays the coordinates and direction of the camera's position. 5. This is what you use to test the scenario. After you click the play button, it'll load the scenario as if from the main menu and play like it should. To get back to the editor, hit Esc and click World Editor, then at tool bar #1, click the yellow train for the scenario editor again. You can also change the game's speed there if you want to get through it quick. ============================================= In this pic, I'm preparing to place a locomotive. Whenever you start a new scenario, it will only have a handful of default loco's and rolling stock available. You have to "load" all your available DLC by using the tool bar on the right. When you click the "Object Set Filter" button that I have circled on the left, the new toolbar will appear on the right, replacing the previous one. You can select each of your available DLC packs from the drop down menu, and then check off all the boxes below. Then the loco's etc will be available to use in the scenario. ============================================= Now click the Locomotives, Engines and Tenders tab and choose a locomotive. When you move the mouse around the screen it will automatically snap to the nearest track. Mouse it to the track you want and left click to place it. You can deselect by right clicking anywhere on the screen. To delete an object after it's been placed, left click it and push the Delete or Backspace key. ============================================= Now I'll be adding a couple of hoppers. The same exact process as the loco. Just be sure to click the Rolling Stock tab right next to the Loco tab. To add multiple cars, keep left clicking or drag the next car to the back of the train. ============================================= You can change the direction of a loco or piece of rolling stock by clicking it and clicking the arrow that appears above it. Also when double clicking, a toolbox will appear on the right. In the pic I have, I double clicked the grain hopper. For rolling stock, you can check the box to load the car and below it change the unit's number. For loco's, there will be options for fuel amount, making it a "broken" engine as well as unit number again. ============================================= I'll have some more info for making a basic scenario soon.

Anyone know if an ATI card, a 4750 to be specific, will run this game?

Or an nVidia 310 Mobile? I know my Haulin and FSX Graphics look good...but ship sim lags, and IDK about this game.

Minimum requirments taken from Steam:
Processor: 2.8 GHz or faster Memory: 2.0 GB RAM Graphics: Video 256 MB with Pixel Shader 3.0*
The game's performance will be affected depending on the route and the amount of trains on screen, obviously relative to the graphical settings. The minimum requirments are based on the core graphics and old engine. So if you apply the new TSX engine and eye candy, you'll get a drop in performance. Some of the smaller routes in the game run much smoother than the more complex ones. The two routes that I play that give me a performance hit are Horseshoe and Woodhead Line. Even though these routes cause my framerate to drop, it still averages around 35FPS. I'm running it with a Phenom II X4 Black Edition and an OCed 560Ti.

o.o my god, makes me just wanna find a copy of Microsoft train simulator somewhere ;D Try RW2, I'm running it fine on my Core2Duo and a ATI x1350/1550 vid card. Although the AA is turned off it runs smooth at 30 to 50 FPS.... and I know it's because of my vid card. Got to get a new one.
