I have a mission for anyone that can help.I got into a discussion about bull haulers here at work and the speeds they run at out west. Nobody here believes me when I say they run 90 to 100 at times. Someone find me a video as proof. Yup, we've been chased down by bull haulers, us doing 75 and they pass ya and you don't see them again. A guy who used to worked for us drove with a friend for a bit in a western star hauling cows, they said it made 700+ HP and it ran easy at 85.

Here's the only vid I could find, but I know they will run pretty damn fast, because most bull haulers around here have the high hp cats with 15 & 18 speed transmissions. Peterbilt passing a kw, nothing special

Dad ran from LA to north FL within 3 hours before. Hitched in behind a set of bull haulers and cruised.

Yeah when my grandpa owned his own truck and had it leased to a reefer company here in the panhandle, one night him and a buddy ran about 115 from the California border back here to Texas. They weren't ever bull haulers but they sure ran like em.

Why do bull haulers run so fast? That's all I ever hear about them.

Alright folks, thanks for the concerns first off. To clear things up, I live 1.5 miles west of Moore city limits. Matt, my buddy lives in MWC so I'm there quite a bit too.
I was at Estes (which is on 40 going west outa OKC) when the shit hit the fan. Nothing that day was supposed to be tornadic. We had a storm pop up in El Reno that was moving into OKC but nothing big. They noticed some rotation in it and everyone flipped. We started having the city drivers get back to the terminal about the time all the shit really got down. We lost power at the terminal, about 80+mph winds, we're all inside this sheet metal dock like "well, the fuck?". They sent us home, then about 2 hours later called me back and told me to come back. Still no power, after 3 hours of sitting in the dark the lights finally came back on, midnight at this point. I went home.
My buddy was in the middle of Moore, he ran into the Warren theater that got hit (sorta) on May 20th 2013. A mile north of my house got fucked, so did a mile north of Estes.

I don't see em much this close to the city, but I believe it. Though I think they run more weight here because they're all tridems. And most of the highways out here are hills or 2 lane so not a ton of opportunity to let a rig loose.

I'm going to double post because its a completely different topic.
I know everyone thinks whee they live is the best and what not, but I'd argue that BC, specifically southwest, has some of the most interesting and challenging highways to drive. Everything leaving Vancouver turns into a mountain pass unless you go south to Washington. I don't know how many people are familiar with the highways around here.

Midwest where I live is generally pretty boring as far as highways, Illinois, Indiana and Iowa you can pretty much forget about, it's all flat nothingness. Gets a little interesting once you get up into Wisconsin (my state). If you're on Interstate 94 the scenery usually gets better once you're by the Dells. For some reason I love seeing the massive expanse of woods up in northern WI.
There's some interesting roads in the foothills of rural Ohio, once spent a few hours driving through after I decided to take a shortcut. VERY windy/hilly roads with old abandoned farms every few miles or so. You felt like you were in a place that time forgot, other than the occasional trailer park. Stunning views too. Stopped and took pictures a few times. One of the best drives I ever took.

Yup, it took 2 and a half years. Originally it was gonna be a 8-10 minute deal, but then I had more ideas over time. Hardest part was programming a drum track for it though.

How about no. I'll never root for this. It means they are trying to put us out of jobs, making the roads "safer" and "eco-friendly". Just think about it, if the truck drives itself, there's no need for a truck driver.

Wellt they do kind of need someone in it, when something goes wrong in the piece of shit and malfunctions like we all know it's going to.

Yea, if you're told to sit behind the wheel in case something happens, what are the odds that you'll get up at least 10 times an hour to do something or get something just because you can?
